I stopped turning my frizzle pekin eggs tonight - so I'm expecting baby Spongebobs in the next few days, although egg number one is rocking around like it's gone mad.

I'm actually hoping for at least one frizzle cockerel, to carry on the frizzle gene. :pray:

It will be beautiful to get any frizzles - but I'll love whatever hatches.

Do bantams tend to hatch early?

Hi,i hatched an egg in the summer,dont laugh but i took 2 days off work as holiday so i could see it hatch,it was worth every hour i spent looking at it,it took 9 hours to hatch and out popped my princess(lucky it was a hen as i already have a cockarel) she is now full grown and laid her first egg last week bless her,goodluck with the hatching j

Two chicks hatched this morning. They came out like little bullets! One at 8am & the other about 9am. There wasn't much hanging around after pipping. They are so tiny, cute & perfect. I can't tell if they are frizzle yet..I think one could be.

One is like silvery white with a greystripe down its back, the other is jet black with a tiny dash of white. :shock:

Funny as the parents are a red frizzle cockerel & the lavender mothers.

One egg hasn't hatched as yet. The other 3 are due next week.

 

I haven't named the 2 chicks as yet - trying to decide on unisex names. Oh & also been trying to take photos, but it is tricky to do under the red heat lamp without clonking my head or getting dud photos.

 

I am so pleased to have healthy little chicks. :D
