There is a branch of 'Giraffe' opening in the Oracle at Reading next week, & I was wondering if anyone had ever been so they can tell me what its like

I have been to the one in the Trafford centre, I had a noodle dish and it wasn't very nice but everybody else enjoyed their burgers and it is always busy........

I hadn't heard of them till last weekend when we were at Milton Keynes but i had the voucher for pizza express so had to use that . it looked nice and the menu looked in teresting!

there's one in Exeter, the coffee is good. Didn't eat there as we watched the staff drop a wiping cloth on the floor, pick it back up, and then use it to wipe tables with....

well I guess that can happen anywhere ... there are several in London, one in Spitalfields, I've been there and they're ok, not gourmet food but a nice lively place for lunch.

I saw that somewhere and wanted to go sooo much (just for the name I loves 'raffes! - as i used to say when I was little lol)

 

BUT i was with my parents and little brother so had to go to KFC cos there isn't one where we live and my brother loves it lol

I used to take the kids for weeknd lunches when I lived in civilisation. Also good for brasserie-style food and super cocktails in the evening as I recall. Im not a fan of restaurant chains in general but Giraffe was always acceptable and a good place to get real food for little people.

I used to go when they were a teeny chain. The Islington one was lovely and warm-feeling. They seem to lack that individuality a bit more these days - they've gone all 'soul food chain' like Nando's. But the food is really nice if you like that sort of thing, and the cocktails used to go down well too, if they still do them. Beats a Harvester or Pizza Express hands down!

I've tried Giraffe 3 times now and each time i haven't enjoyed the food It sounds lovely, looks great but always seemed to be disappointing - maybe its the style of food

Isn't there one at Heathrow or was it Gatwick Airport? I seem to remember that was the name of the place that we scoffed before a flight somewhere. I don't recall being terribly impressed with it but I may be mixed up - wouldn't be the first time!

Hi everyone

Who or what is Giraffe?

Just looked them up and I can say the nearest place to me is a mere 50 miles away at Manchester Trafford Centre or 160 miles away at Milton Keynes.

This most likely explains why I have not heard of them.

I don't think so because I'd never heard of them and, according to rumour, there are several quite close to me including a new one in Reading. Could it be that we are people of class and distinction?
