sti chick
My lovely husband mark has built me a wonderful hen house . He has got a lovely shed in our garden and has given up a fair chunk of that for the hen house, yep he has built the house inside of his shed. So the chooks will be really warm and toasty. He has even given it a stable door so we can have a look inside and not worry about them coming out. Its absolutely perfect. Today he ordered the wire for the run, which he will build between christmas and new year. I have reserved 10 chickens and they will be ready on the 15th jan. To say we are excited is an understament. My friends think i'm nuts cos i'm having chickens for christmas I am so pleased with what he has done for me As promised some pics for you all to see Lin Oh and because i've been a good boy i thought i'd slip a picture of my mistress on here for you Edited December 16, 2008 by Guest
chelsea
he certainly does spoil you,..that sounds fantastic. Cant wait to see the pics I think its lovely to get chickens for christmas, I'd much rather have that than a pair of socks or the endless bottles of perfume I seem to get! You should name them something christmassy - like holly/ivy/berry etc

mostin
So cool, love the stable door idea, and the ramp up to all the little nest boxes. Maybe I'm a weird girl but I'd be just as jealous of that mistress as a real woman . (I love my brum brums). Can't wait to see your girlies all snuggled up in there. Plum
Lucky you. What a great husband, his mistress isn't bad either. Good thing we've had all this bad weather to keep him away from her. Not long until 15th Jan, you must be so excited thinking of them snuggling in those nestboxes and going up and down the ramp. What type of chickens are you having. stoice
Lovely work. We put lino cushion flooring down inside our shed - makes cleaning up the squitty jobs sooo much easier. We also glossed the walls part of the way up (WAY before we added hens due to the fumes) as you'll soon notice they will 'decorate' the wall behind the perches. Looks very smart though, like the ramp too

Guest
My eglu and hens were for the very big birthday I had this year, and I certainly got some funny looks and comments when I told ppl what I had had. But my chickadees are such a constant source of enjoyment I couldn't have asked for anything I would have valued more!
