TAJ
This is the place to go to buy potatoes http://www.dundrynurseries.co.uk/default.asp They have 150 varieties which you can buy in any quantity from 1 tuber upwards - you just put what you want in a bag and they are sold by weight - they are far cheaper than any seed catalogue I have seen and if you go to the potato weekend (24th & 25th Jan) there is so much advice and demos to see as well. We grow a lot of heritage varieties, some dating back to the 1800s, but there is just so much here we try a few different ones each year. We usually go down there a few days before to avoid the rush and to ensure we get exactly what we want. Tracy
Lesley
Looks like a great place Tracey West of Cheltenham is a bit further for us than going to the Potato Day at Ryton Gardens where we usually get ours though.
Redwing
Thanks for this Tracey, I notice that B&Q are selling seed potatoes now but they look very bog standard so we may give this place a try! I would love to try some purple potatoes Apparently it is customary within the industry to have open days during late January so if this is too far for some folks I bet they will find one closer. Valkyrie
The Garden Organic - Hampshire group - are having their potato day on 24th and 25th January this year (at the Testbourne Centre in Whitchurch) - a must for me because I like "Cherie" spuds - very high yielding and tasty. moochoo
That looks like a great place! It's nice to see some much time being dedicated to the humble spud. It's something that even the unluckiest gardener can grow.
