I still always have a cupboard well stocked even though mine are 16 & 18 now.

 

BTW for high temperatures, a cold damp flannel with a few drops of lavender oil on it works wonders.

Well here I am, 3.30am, two children up - one's just been sick again, poor thing her tummy hurts so much, the other has finshed with the vomiting as far as I can tell and has moved onto diahorrea (sp?) and also has a slight temperature

Going to pretty tired in the morning!

We also have a selection of the "self dose" medications; cough syrup -several types, calpol, nurofen, arnica both doses and rescue remedy. The painkillers are either in sachets or the melt form as the children are bigger now & they are so much easier to throw into a bag than a bottle & spoons. The amount which my 2 need (fortunately ), a bottle will sometimes go out of date before it's finished too.

I had it over Christmas. The sore throat was just awful.

 

Have now got a graveyard cough which gets me loads of sympathy, but I am actually no longer feeling ill.

I'm with Mrs Bertie when my kids were little I always had calpol or similar in the cupboard as well as stuff for bites & stings antiseptic creams, plasters, nits you name it I had it otherwise with 4 of them I would have needed a seat with my name on it in our surgery.

 

some of my lot think they have thankfully its a minority, most moms are very sensible, but we do have a culture in some areas that says that you should not have to pay for ANYTHING, if you can get it free from the NHS or benefits. I sort of understand the mentality if you are struggling but a bottle of paracetamol for YOUR CHILD, it is embarrassing

That reminds me Tiggy... the week is slipping past and I haven't spoken to you yet about collecting that wormery will give you a bell when The Bpy appears and I know what he's up to for the rest of the week.

I have moved on to the cough now - head still bunged up and nose thick, but not nearly so bad and I feel reasonabley alert too. Have stopped taking the cold remedies as I develop a rash after a while Coughing well though and stepping up the steam inhaling..... thanks a bunch Egluntine - I blame you! *rasp*

I've succummed myself now normally I'm immune to most of the bugs being exposed to them all the time. ive got really horrible sinusitis luckily had some antibioticsat home, should be kicking in in time for me to go back to work tomorrow no we don't get to go off sick unless we really cannot get out of bed
