Vanessa Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Hi I need to clipp my girls wings but I have not a clue how to do it - I had many looks at the omlet page but don't feel very comfertable yet to do it myself as we only had the girls for 2 weeks yet. But as I let them free range and they have escaped a couple of times in neighours garden. I don't how we could arrange it but surely we could find a way. Or somebody once mention something about hen parties or something like this?! Well help is needed so anyone out please could you get in touch. I wouldn't like to do it myself, luckily I've never had to 'cos my girls don't seem to want to (or can't), escape. Cooks Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I did consider doing mine, but they are too worried to fly away in fear they wont get their home comforts I hope you manage to find someone to do it for you, maybe try the breeder you got them from or if you got from omlet, follow egluntines advice.. from what I remember it's set out very clearly. (not me! used to work on farm and one of the lads did all thirty on his own!) When my girls arrived OH held them and I did the cutting. I held the chicken, my husband only had to hold the wing out and then I did the cutting. I also found helpful. At least it shows that it is not painful for the chicken. Good luck. We're at the bottom of the Campsies on the Glasgow side, so about 40 minutes from Falkirk (my daughter lives in Falkirk).
