I thought I would do a little poll to see which book proved to be the most popular from our choices for 2008.

Please only vote if you particiapte in the book group, so we can get a proper indication of the winning book 8)

Also please pick based on how much you like the book, not how much you like the person who picked it

I will let the poll run for 2 weeks, then there will be a little prize for the person who picked the book that everyone loved the best :P

Good luck all!

I only joined from the Book Thief onwards and didn't get around to reading The Watcher (its a horror book, am I right? I'm not very good with horror films or books).

I really loved The Lollipop Shoes (I'm reading Blackberry Wine at the moment) and 2nd choice would be The Book Thief. :D

I loved the Kite Runner book and saw the film at the cinema. It's brilliant!Very true to the book, beautiful scenery and music, great actors, everything you would hope for.

Part of it had sub-titles, but that seemed to work well too. Took my 17 year old son to see it and he rather enjoyed it too.

Enjoy!

PS

I voted for The Kite runner on the poll, but Bel Canto came a very close second.

I hadn't seen this until now, I still voted because I wanted to see the scores.

I voted Brick Lane for it's insight into Muslim life and the way it conflicts with western life.

I have enjoyed all of the books that I have read except Midnight's Children which I gave up on. I may give it another go someday.

I have got a bit behind recently because I have been reading a series of books by C.J Sansom which are crime stories set in the 16th century. They are really well written and they have taught me a lot about that period of history. I don't like historical books normally but these are hard to put down.

Ooohhh how exciting - I had forgotten about this. I only came in for quick whiz through things before I go to bed. I don't think I deserve a prize for picking what was already a 'must-read' book though! Why don't you keep it and award it to someone else for something much cleverer ooh just had a thought - will PM you Sarah.
