chooklady
I treated myself to an ipod on Friday. What brilliant little gadgets they are. I bought it in John Lewis and it was cheapest there, not by a massive amount but you know what they say 'look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves' something like that anyway! Anyone else got one and what do you think of it?
Mutrix Farmers
Bought Son an i-pod for christmas. He loves it. I have an old mp3 player but the music quality on the i-pod is far better, and it will hold more songs, and the battery is rechargeable, and it's easier to use. In fact I want one for me!! Cinnamon
Love mine - use it all the time. Mine is last years shape Nano, but my girls both have a new nano which is super too. I also have a Belkin thingy so it transmitts the music from the pod to my car stereo
Cooks
my 13 yeard old son is going to buy one with his birthday money... I know nothing about them unfortunately.
Seagazer
We've all got one now. I started with a shuffle as I don't listen to music all the time but soon decided it would be easier to use a nano. They are brilliant.
Lydia
Hubby bought me my first iPod 3 years ago and me and the iPod bonded immediately- in fact I think we are surgically attached now It literally goes everywhere with me even comes to bed every night. What I do find is that I no longer listen to albums in their entirety and always have it on playlists and always on shuffle. I also only download certain tracks and no longer buy CDs (to the extent that we've now got rid of our CD player and are in the process of Ebaying our entire CD collection). laurmurf
I've got a Creative ZenV and love it! But I didn't think I'd ever fill it at 4 GB though, and have - easily - as I keep putting audio books on it to listen to in the car (i've got a Belkin thing too). I wish I'd got the biggest GB that I could afford, as you'd be amazed how easy it is to fill. I've had to delete all my xmas music from it instead of saving it in a folder for next year, AND I've had to delete chunks of books I've listened to rather than keeping them. YD is replacing her Creative ZenV+ with a Creative Mosaic and is going from 2GB to 8GB!
bokbokbok
I am a real Apple Geek! In our house we have my original iPod Photo (white 60gb), then got a refurbished old style Nano from Apple for DS (Black 2gb) then when I bought my iMac last year they had a FREE iPOD deal so I told OH my new style Nano (Red 8gb I think) was free but in fact I had to pay a little towards an upgrade shhh! Then this year I upgraded my O2 contract and got a 16gb iPhone. You think iPods are good? Try an iPhone - mega! Started off a bit meh towards it but now totally love it. Apart from the iMac as above, we now have 2 Powerbook laptops and a Mac Mini! (By the way - the refurbed Nano was *as new* but in a plain box - never had a moment's worth of trouble from it - just in case you fancy checking them out)
Geoid
I got a 2nd Gen iPod touch, like an iPhone, but with no phone. Much cheaper than iPhone.
Jillus
I got a shocking pink Shuffle for Christmas and love it, it makes my forced walks bearable. Trying to walk off a stone before I go to St Lucia next month, 2lbs lost since January 1st!

kitbag
I got a 2nd Gen iPod touch, like an iPhone, but with no phone. Much cheaper than iPhone. Same! I love my iPod touch! It's amazing because it can do so many things!
Olly
love mine, had a mini and then when it wore out (battery gave up ) I had to get another one, got a nano last year. They are just brilliant - I use mine a lot for learning music, record the songs I'm learning and then listen to them again and again but I also download The Archers podcasts and listen on the Tube
Redwing
I love my ipod, I didn't want one as I didnt use a walkman and didn't see how I would use an ipod but its great. I have an ipod jack in the car and also a Klipsch player in the house (better than Bose and cheaper) I wouldn't be without mine
Rona
I got a purple ipod for my birthday and a mini hifi with an ipod dock at Christmas and I am getting the hang of it. Because I've never had a walkman as I don't like things in my ears all the time the ipod had never appealed to me but when my son explained it properly to me and how to download from itunes etc I realised that I was in danger of being left behind by modern technology. Can't have that.
cathybc
I treated myself to one at Christmas I had previously bought a cheap MP3 player which didn't last long, but I love my Ipod. BUT - downloading from ITunes is getting to be a habit and the costs soon add up...
Old Speckled Hen
I've had an iPod since they first became available 2002/3 I think, and I'm on my fifth having bought my last one in New York when the pound was nearly 2 dollars. Love it. I have a Bose dock for it , again from New York, so I can have all my music with a great sound.
Seagazer
My OH has just got an ipod touch I think its called. He absolutely loves it, thinks it nearly the greatest thing since sliced bread. Mind you YS seems to like it too and can be often found wandering around the house with it. Could be fisticuffs at dawn if we don't watch out. Ain't Nobody Here
I must be the only round here who hates iPods . I bought one for ES's Christmas a few years ago and it didn't even work straight out of the box. Sent it back for a replacement (losing the engraving in the process ) and granted it worked for about a year, then it constantly froze no matter how many times I reset it and did all the things you're supposed to do. After 18 months it went in the bin. I won't be buying another one. The boys are happy with their ordinary MP3 players. I'm pleased for those people who love theirs but I'm still angry at the waste of money, time and effort Apple caused me.
