Lesley
Stratford's only good if you like Shakespearean actors I did have a meal in the Chinese one lunchtime at the table next to Derek Jacobi and met Celia Imrie in the Post Office. Kate - I remember Olivia telling us she'd touched David Bowie - it's in her Questionnaire. It is obviously all downhill now you've reached that Birthday I wonder what Jeremy Paxman's message was? - is it repeatable Denise?

Sheilaz
David who, Olivia? Did you know his son, Zowie, now goes by the name of Duncan! That's the trouble with having strange parents. So my children tell me They don't know whether to believe the name we would have given Esther, had she been a boy...Dexter. They were but we thought you'd just have to be a star called Dexter Webster Narrow escape there, then. OK Denise, you win! But we do need more details now! Or we'll all be guessing the message from Mr.P.....arranging a fishing trip?
Emma
I have a life sized cardboard cutout of Orlando Bloom as Legolas in my hallway. He is such a lovely greeting when I get in from work. My hubby bought him for me at last years Lord of the Rings exhibition in London. Does that count as seeing a celeb? On my 12th birthday I saw Derek Griffiths at a bus stop and told him it was my birthday he wished me all the best. It was the best day,I loved him when I was a small kid. I saw him again years later at the Roundhouse Theatre in the bar! Also used to live opposite a punk band called 999 and used to have a'jam session' with them on my bass. Annette Crosbie's children used to go to my junior school and Lionel BLair's son was at my secondary school. Often saw John Pertwee(dr.who time). My school was in Barnes,London-an area frequented by many rich and famous. Daniel Bedingfield is a frequent visitor to the school I work at. He is good friends of parents of kids at our school. The father is in a band called'Delirious'-a christian rock band who are huge in the U.S. I could go on and on but quite frankly I don't wish to boast

Mrs Frugal
When I was nursing, I worked with the aunt of Erasure lead singer Andy Bell and then when I was a classroom assistant, I used to know Jamie Oliver's neice. OK, so that's not terribly impressive but it's the best I can do !
Emma
I know I had sunstroke yesterday but fancy forgetting to mention that my very own big sister is a t.v star Joyce Bowler- anyone know who she is I'll put you out of your misery. She was/is the mother of the Bowler family who did the channel 4 series 1900 House. Did anybody watch it She had 2 chickens in the back yard in a old fashioned henhouse which her hubby had to make. She says the best part of the experience was keeping the chickens and she cried when they had to go back after the 3 months of filming *see forum subject on things I learnt today to find out about my embarrasing sunstroke moment
Jukebox Tim
I'm unimpressed by the preoccupation with "celebrity" status. It's afforded to many people unworthy of the accolade now; Abi Titmus et al. There was a great episode of Grumpy Old Men on the subject recently and I've realised that I am turning into Arthur Smith. Anyway, on the subject of star-spotting...or, indeed, name-dropping; here's an eclectic mix of stars/celebs/famous people that I've met - some of these will date me no doubt; Adam Faith, Gareth Hunt, Sir Robin Day, Sir Edward Heath, Sir Geoff Hurst, Sir Trevor Brooking, Sir Richard Branson, Sir Michael Caine, James Dyson, Peter Osgood, Bill Haley, Joe Strummer, Adam Ant, Prince Phillip, Slim Gailard, Tommy Cooper, George Melly, the bloke who played Grant Mitchell, Ally McCoist, Bryan Robson, Kevin Keegan, Peter Langan, Sir Jimmy Saville, Richard Harris, Sir Henry Cooper, George Cohen, Alan Ball, Charlie George, Peter Scudamore and Richard Dunwoody. Not a page three model or silicone-implanted-Celebrity-Love-Island sl*pper in sight...more's the pitty!
motherhen
I'm totally unimpressed by celebrity things - I just want Orlando Bloom and Brad Pitt - in character as Legolas and Achilles of course As for a life size cut out of Legolas (next best thing) - Emma, are you trying to make me jealous???? ps I am of course only interested in scintillating conversation with said hunks

Is she going to have an Eglu then ? Tim, I'm impressed (well impressed for someone who isn't into celebrity at all). I'd love to meet Michael Caine though not a lot of people know that ! Louise
I was at a party the other week and so was Gareth Thomas (The Bill, Londons Burning, Heartbeat, Blakes 7 etc) mind you he is my neighbour so not that surprising really
Anna 1
I'm not big on celebs, but my Dad seems to be... He was an 'extra' in Lord of the Rings (a hobbit and a refugee from Rohan) and had lunch on set one day with Christopher Lee and Ian Holm. He said it was weird talking to Christopher Lee 'cos he remembers him from childhood on all those movies. And at this very moment Dad is escorting Prince William all round NZ. If you watch BBC news he's the balding exhausted-looking guy in the background getting pushed out of the way by photographers!
Mrs Frugal
COOL ANNA!! I'd love to have been an extra on LOTR - anything to get a bit closer to Aragorn (no swooning emoticon, I'm afraid!!).
Anna 1
It is pretty cool isn't it? Sadly I wasn't around in NZ at the time they were auditioning... Quite a few of my friends were Orcs and Elves, and I even know someone who knitted orc chain-mail! Wellington is a very small city!!! We used to go out to Lyall Bay to see if we could spot any of the 'boys' surfing. Apparently Orlando Bloom used to go there all the time (yum)... I did see Liv Tyler and Elijah Wood in the video store, but didn't recognise them till they were leaving!!!
motherhen
Wow,Wow,Wow Now I really am soooo jealous. You have been breathing the same air as Orlando!!!!! (thank goodness I'm middle-aged and married and past all this swooning stuff)
