The Complete Book of Herbs, Flora Britannica, The Real Witches Kitchen (to follow the seasons), Brewers Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, etc, etc... The most used is probably the herb one, it is the smallest herb book I have, so the most portable.

Most Geoff Hamilton's books - the fave is "Successful Organic Gardening" which is really our Bible, closely followed by John Seymour's book.

One I used to love when I stayed with my grandparents was a book given to Nan for a wedding present called "Everything Within" very dated, but had fortune telling in it plus animal husbandry, carpentry, cleaning - you name it, it had it! I have it now - it's falling apart and is such a huge book.
