Disgusted at Heston Blumenthal's comments (a rant!)

Recommended Posts

I didn't see the show but will watch it tomorrow night.

However judging from what I have seen here is it not possible that he was trying to emphasise the differences in cookery & cruelty to animals between then & now?

Maybe in a roundabout way it shows how we have grown as a community of animal lovers who like to treat the animals who becomon our food with respect?

you realise of course that posting it on here is bringing it to the attention of even more people.

Yes Poet, but the people on the forum are unlikely to follow the recipe.

are you vouching for the sanity of every single person in cyberworld that happens upon this forum then Christian?

I would love to Poet, but doing a google search, it revealed 53,800 results for Heston Blumenthal. I don't think that out little 'chat' will have million of live chickens being eaten at the dinner table. Thank goodness.

:D

do you think The Mail on Sunday article will?

No accounting for the sanity of some Mail on Sunday Readers :anxious:

I have to say that I am with Poet on this one. If anyone actually sees this as advocating that sort of treatment then they are probably mentally disturbed in any event and would only think of some equally vile thing of their own accord!

How can you possibly get annoyed with him when he says this-

The most outrageous recipe I found was from an antique French cook book – although I’d be amazed if anyone actually made it
at the beginning ..? :eh:

I think all this fire and damnation would be better brought upon Foie Gras, not an 18thCentury dish that may have never been served!
