Pets that live in eglus...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

We know that the eglu is a great home for chickens, but we want to know what other wierd and wonderful pets you have living in Omlet accomodation. Ducks...tortoises...tarantulas (I hope not)...whatever you keep in an eglu please let us know.

We are looking to have a few special newsletters featuring different creatures great and small, and you and your pets could be the stars!

Please send me an email telling me what animals you keep in the eglu and why they're great pets. Photos would be brilliant!

Have a good weekend,

Steph

I think my OH would be quite happy in a hublu as long as it had WIFI :lol::lol:

My Eglu had wifi and a camera and a motion sensor, I think it was the most technically advanced eglu ever!

that's what my OH says he is going to set up on my eglu so I can watch the girls on chicken cam when I am away from them

I sent Stephanie an email with the adventures of Picachu our turkey who insists on being in the Cube with the chickens :D , but have heard nothing back :(

Oh SAB would you share it with us on the forum?

I had it on the forum a wee while ago, but I don't think the photos are there anymore - will update when I have some time to do so. Thanks for asking.

Oh, and I have now heard back, so may be involved in newsletter at some point!

Lol

The Tortoises sometimes go in the Eglu (Only cause our vile dog can't get to them while their in there)

Oh and Our Border Terrier X likes to get in there too (Only when the door is left open

Will post some pics of them on the Other pets board later

toddlers count?

My son sneaked into ours for an afternoon nap when he was about 18 months old. I turned my back for a couple of mins to go to the loo, came back out into the garden, couldn't find him. Called hubby home from work and had the neighbours out searching the street when I didn't find him after about 30 mins.

Suddenly dawned on us that he might have crawled into the eglu.. there he was stinking of korma chicken poo and snoring contentedly.

Not a pet as such, but I found this

Spike5.jpg

fast asleep under the roosting bars on Thursday morning. The chickens had been sqwarking on and off from 4am even when we let them out of the run. YS checked for eggs but there were none but he didn't spot Spike under the roosting bars.

As soon as I removed him to the safety of the nettle patch Peppa was in like a shot to lay her egg. Ginger followed soon afterwards, they must have been crossing their legs all morning

I can only think Spike wandered in before we closed the run door, couldn't get out and was only spotted by the girls once the sun came up.
