Weathercoc
Hi All, Its only 4 days since the cube and girls arrived, and I've spent a little time this afternoon securing the garden ready for when they start exploring the world beyond the run. I usually give a handful of corn as an afternoon treat. This afternoon I remembered that some while ago I had bought a 'cat treat ball' to try and encourage our very lazy cat to exercise more. This ball is around the size of a snooker ball, and has a single hole in the top. You fill it with cat biscuits and as the ball rolls the biscuits fall out. I think I paid a couple of quid for it. The cat never played with it and it was sitting on a shelf in the garage, just above where the corn is kept. As an experiment I filled it with corn, and placed it in the run. The girls loved it! It didn't take them long to discover how it worked, and they would kick it backwards, eat the few pieces of corn that fell out, and then chase the ball to start again. It was real 'end-to end' stuff and we were all in hysterics watching. They didn't even mind that the ball is pink, with pictures of mice on it! So much fun, it might become a regular fixture!! Next time I'll try and have a camera handy. Gary

Barkisland
I have one of those! I was given it for my birthday, by another chook keeper, she said my girls would love it. They took a while to work it out, but now they can empty it in no time Mine is green, with red apple cores on it.
Falkor
I have a guinea pig treat ball for my girls and it is great! Yelloe with carrots and also you can change the size of the opening so can put all sorts on treats inside. I don`t feel so guilty when they have to stay in the run as they have something to play with! Stella is def goalie with OSH the best at tackling and stealing the ball!
