The chicks are too little to go outside at the moment but we will be getting our next month! Any cocks will be going to mate at a farm but hopefully we will be left with a fair few hens to keep as pets for lovely eggs.

Yes! We really want six girls in an ideal world but will accept what we end up with. They're just such funny things. Only day two and they already have such distinctive personalities. I'm sure we have lots more fun to look forward to!

Smudge has to be the only cat who is scared of chicks! She's so daft, she wont go anywhere near them! So funny!

Gorgeous! How old are they? My chicks are 8 days old now. I could sit and watch them all day, they're so funny.

They're all three weeks old except the two silkie chicks who are six weeks old.

What breeds are they? It's a bit hard to tell at that age. I think I like Fajita best (but they are all cute).

They're a real hotch potch of everything! The two bigger ones are silkies. Mr Fantastic is starting to become my favourite but Dave is also very cuddly! My boyfriend thinks Bruno is the best - yesterday evening he was sitting with him at the computer!

I keep wanting to give them treats! Does anyone know if there are any treats we could give the chicks or are they too young? I don't want to upset their tummies but thought they might like a few s"Ooops, word censored!"s of lettuce or something?

They are adorable, can't have a favourite as I love them all.

 

It will be really interesting to see how much and how quickly they change so don't forget to keep taking those photos and sharing them.
