4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi,

 

My best friend is expecting her 1st baby in August and I want to get her something nice for the baby and something useful at the same time. I thought about one of these electronic swings (plays music & vibrates) -

Does anyone have one and have found it useful? Waste of money? Godsend?

 

This one I have found does go up to 11kg in weight (the majority of swings are much lower weight restrictions) so hopefull will last her longer.

 

Any feedback appreciated

My brother and SIL had one of these (not sure if it was the same one) and they said it was a Godsend! Their babies loved it and it meant that they could cook/eat a meal, hang washing etc. all the exciting stuff

Hi Chelsea,

 

I bought this for my eldest grandson......he didn't like it! HOWEVER....2nd grandson and 2 x grandaughters absolutely loved it Youngest (nearly a year old) had to have it on the fastest setting and would sleep quite happily with it swinging away

 

I would say this is a brilliant pressie if it can be passed on to other babies

Really great gift, wish I'd have had one of these for my three. Great that the cover is machine washable too, does it go in tumble dryer? - little uns like nothing better than bringing back their milk! Is it possible to buy additional covers? I always found it difficult doing without my (basic) bouncy chair when it was having another emergency wash! Wish I had a friend like you!

Thanks for the feedback folks... sounds like quite a good idea then....I am going to see it at the weekend so will ask about the extra covers & check if they are tumble drier proof (good thinking cos I would never have thought of that!)

I bought something similar, second hand from ebay for my new granddaughter when she visits, it is great she loves it, often falls asleep in it or is happy to be in it when she is awake.

 

I think it would be a lovely gift.

Aww how cute! I didnt realise they were around back then (I was a 70's child too) so they must be good if they are still making them.

I think that would be a fantastic present . It would save having to get in the car and drive over gently undulating roads for half an hour to get the baby to sleep (I speak from experience ).

 

It's not too big either, so wouldn't take over a living room .

Total godsend if it hadn't been for the swing I would have gotten nothing to eat as long as the swing was moving my daughter slept. Wonderful gift

Just an update, after a teary phone call from my pregnant friend (her poor cat got run over and killed last night ) to cheer her up and after much deliberation I have ordered this one -

I got it from Boots as they had £20 off I dont really like the colours (preferred the brown/beige one myself) but after hours of looking at swings I went for this one as it folds up & becomes a bouncer aswell. Hope she likes it!

My brother & my dads cousin clubbed together and bought Isabelle one and its been and still is great!

 

My back wasnt great after having Isabelle and so rocking her in my arms was painful and the swing was brilliant. The only down side is that the seat is often shaped like that of a car seat and therefore baby should not be in it for long - you may want to let your friend know this too.

 

Babies should only be in a car seat for upto 1 hour at a time and really no more than twice a day.

Poet - I had a dress almost exactly the same! (with a very similiar haircut too).

 

Chelsea - I am sure your friend will love that swing. I had one for my son and it was great, he loved it and would fall asleep in it (except the time my now-ex-husband put it on the fastest possible setting and I thought he was going to be launched out the living room window!). Thanks for all your comments, I ordered it on Wednesday and she got it on Friday and she loved it!
