TOMWARDFARM
Walkers in their infinite wisdom during a recession is trying to get us to buy over priced weird flavoured crisps. What is your favourite the choices are Fish and Chips Chilli and Chocolate Cajun Squirrel Onion Bhaji Builder's Breakfast Crispy Duck and Hoisin I have tried some - Fish and CHips is awful, Cajun Squirrel is awful (interesting flavours) and the Crispy Duck and Hoi Sin tastes similar to Crispy Duck and Hoi Sin but I still wouldn't rate it. Guest
If I eat crisps I want to feel like I've really had a packet of crisps so we get those McCoys ridge cut chunky ones, but we don't eat crisps that often. I don't like thin, flaky crisps that are gone in 60 seconds
chickencam
I used to love walkers crisps but they have got really thin and soft recently and as for the new flavours, the very worst is the fish and chips, it is vile
Ana's flock
It's very rarely that we eat crisps nowadays. If at a push (when organising children's parties or something similar) it has to be as natural as possible, so just plain salted or salt and vinegar as the last resort. Actually I rather enjoyed some nice beet root, carrot and other root vegetable crisps I had at a party a wee while ago... I don't remember what they were called but they were very tasty. As per the Walkers weird flavours, we did enter some for the competition, like Brave Bravas, Jolly ailioli, and Real chorizo I don't know if I'd like to try them though... although I love real Bravas, ailioli sauce and proper Spanish chorizo, but when they synthesise the flavours and reduce them to a little satchel full of chemicals, they kind of loose the charm a tad... The trouble is, if I open a big bag, I have a real struggle not to eat the whole thing in one go Julian Graves sell them but they are more expensive in there
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Ooh yes vegetable crisps rock! I've tried all the new Walkers flavours and I think they're all awful - mainly because for once the chemical flavours are bang on (squirrel aside). So the breakfast tastes sausagey, eggy, tomatoey and bacony - and with the texture of a crisp not a breakfast, it's really wrong. I love old school crisp flavours - cheese and onion, prawn cocktail and beef - because they are what they are - which is to say they taste nothing like the real thing! A bloke in a shop told me he'd submitted pork pie and pickle as a flavour. I think that might have worked! But these ones freak me out. And the squirrel has got lost under the cajun flavour. Real squirrel has a lovely delicate gamey quality to it. This tastes gimmicky. Charlie Brooker did a very funny column on these crisps in The Guardian. He was rather forthright in his opinion about the tastes!
Egluntyne
I'm not keen on the root veg crisps. Too sweet for me. I try not to have any potato crisps in the house because the temptation to scoff the lot is hard to resist.

kitbag
I didn't like most of them! I quite liked the fish and chips one (although the smell was ) and the duck one!
Old Speckled Hen
Builders' Breakfast Good job it's not Builders' B*M .... I must admit that's what I read it as at first ...silly me. I daren't say any more for fear of having my insignia ripped off and marched away by the mods
PapaJuliet
I normally prefer Ready Salted crisps and I generally prefer the "baked" style such as Hula Hoops, the Walkers baked crisps or Doritoes (the hot spicy ones). So far I have tried the Cajun Squirrel (kinda spicy but not really squirrelly (not that I've actually tried squirrel... the butcher hasn't managed to source any for us yet)) and the Builder's Breakfast (first taste was like the smoky bacon ones, later possibly a hint of all the other stuff that is supposed to be in it but I wouldn't rush to get them again). I also have lined up the Hoisin Duck and the Chocolate & Chilli but I haven't tried them yet. Have you also noticed they are a larger bag than the regular crisps? Is this to get us used to paying higher prices or do they expect us to share? PJ
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
The chocolate and chili ones - I had them in a ham sandwich by mistake. BIG mistake!!!
MedusA
DD bought some home yesterday. Dare I admit that I actually liked the Fish and Chips ones? But then I am a vegetarian, so what do I know?
Jillus
I really liked the Chocolate and Chilli but only bought them for my chocaholic sister, she hated them!
chelsea
I love crisps! too much really (anything cheesy hits the spot) I dont fancy any of the flavours, but OH has eaten the builders breakfast and he says you can really taste the individual flavours like the egg & the sausage. Lewis
The chocolate and chili ones - I had them in a ham sandwich by mistake. BIG mistake!!! Maybe you should suggest it to Walkers
Yorkshire Pudding
Chocolate and chilli went down well here. I could taste the individual flavours of the Builders Breakfast, but I'm not a lover of bacon flavoured crisps anyway so didn't enjoy the experience. We haven't tried Onion Bhaji yet - they're in the cupboard for later. The DSs declared their favourite to be Builder's breakfast with Chocolate and Chilli on top
