Cooks
After a few weeks of careful intro's and a week of letting the girls sleep together and hoiking them out in the morning, tonight they are sleeping together again, but will wake up together and stay in the WIR. I have taken Clarets advice and put some evergreen branches in 3 corners to give the newbies some hidey holes. There is now an additional drinking and feeding station, so wish me luck, I wont sleep tonight I will be up at the crack of dawn with a cup of coffee to check that all is well. The eglu is still here so if all chaos erupts I can pull them out again, but I hoping I wont have to, lets hope they settle tomorrow
Mrs Webmuppet
Good luck We are at the letting them run round the garden together stage.........Scurry is being a scardey chook but the others don't seem to bother each other. With the exception of Saturday I shall be around for the next 6 days so I can really get to grips with the intros. I am hoping that Scurry will calm down soon then we can progress to the next stage. Flo was a scared little thing, but she is SO much braver now. I have to say her comb and wattles are coming along nicely!, I am hoping for or but I think it will be I am glad I did the intro's like this though, as you could visibly see the new girls getting braver and braver and had I just 'turfed them in at night' they wouldn't have been ready and it would have been so scarey for them. I believe Dory will lay anytime, so maybe when she see's the others going in to lay she'll take the hint

My older girls are very much led by their stomachs so as long as they can eat they dont mind much. I keep walking up to them and saying be good! BarbaraJ
Mine seem ok after a week apart they all went in together. A bit of noise the first night for about 2 mins , i shut the door all was silent. The new girls do seem to keep to a corner branch and perch on there but they are eating and drinking and get the odd peck but nothing major. Flo the seemingly flighty one is the bravest and there are 5 feeding stations and 3 water so they all should be able to get food and water sounds like you have done a great job

dancing cloud
Sounds like all is going well and patience is being rewarded (note to self to remember to be patient in introductions, even if not patient anywhere else in life! ) Hope you're not still swigging the coffee or you'll definitely get no sleep tonight! And well done that Dory-hen
