freddie
Snuck off yesterday to a very nice lady's house to meet up with a certain Wild Mum; who got my sister and I all intrigued with the Silver Clay.... Well, we had a ball, and made some lovely bits and pieces, Thank you Sha, and Sarah; we had a lovely day!! We now know that all chicken owners are nuts!!, that we are more creative than we think, and we'd do it all again tomorrow!! I shall try to photo my efforts, and get them on screen, probably via ANH

Minnie the Moocher
Very impressive! I like the piece with the jewel set in it, is it an amethyst? Perhaps it's your birthstone? Now I have very itchy fingers *checks calendar and counts days to workshop*
Chook n Boo Mum
Thank you Freddie!!! I am all warm & glowy now! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves & it was great to meet you both. We had a great day too, got back at 8pm & still haven't unloaded the car...will post piccies of my makings too a bit later, along with one of the full to bursting skelter, may just have to order another in pink or pistashio.....or both according to DD!!!!!!! I spent yesterday clearing a worktop in it's honour If anyone else is interested in silver jewellery from Art Clay Silver, I do travel...............!! Sha x P.S. Does Jann know how to spin? One of her many societies & Guilds had spinning in the title, I'd love to learn to spin & could probably get a fleece from my BiL for a reasonable price (well more than he can sell it for obviously, as that is peanuts )
Chook n Boo Mum
In answer to your questions, from my point of view (as teacher!!), they are only as fiddly as you want them to be, you can keep them seriously simple or jazz them up as you see fit & get more confident with the clay. The stone is a coloured cubic zirconia, I don't think that amythyst would survive the blow torch! Some natural stones do, but many don't. And yes, we are all nuts, totally bonkers...or maybe we are the sane ones !!! These are my bits...... Sha x edited to add photos, although must learn how to take pics without flash glare! freddie
Sha, yr photo's really dont do the hen justice, as it's so much more beaut than that!! We had a great day, and no we're not particularly arty, a bit, but it's like working with plasticine, and you can screw it up and start again!! I've shown it round at school today, I think Sha may be taking a trip down to Devon soon!!!
Chook n Boo Mum
I'll try & get DH to take a pic, I really couldn't get it right this morning, may be better this evening with no natural light! Oooo can't wait I love the West Country, I spent many a happy summer in Cornwall with grandparents as a pre-teen & teenager. I've coloured the teardrop the same as my heart as a birthday pressie for a friend tomorrow. She lives in navy blue, so we didn't want to shock her too much with a pillar pox red or fuschia, so settled for turquoise like mine! I just hope she likes it ! Minnie the Moocher
I wish I had a dark coloured 'Skelter. When I bought mine there was pale grey or pale grey to choose from. It is always admired by my visitors though, and I could always paint it.
