Beauty-Box
I was feeling down so I logged on. I thought I'd have a look at a picture of the chickens I posted a while ago. Now I feel worse! I've had three not-very-nice comments about how dirty my eglu was at the time. I have to say I burst in to tears! I don't think I'll log on again - Where's that bus to run under? Sheilaz
Hey, Rebecca, stay here a min, I've just made a pot of tea! I'm really sorry to hear that some comments have been upsetting. I wish you lived nearer & could pop and look at my Eglus. I'm off to look at your lovely chook pics. Meanwhile, consider yourself hugged, enjoy the hot drinks, and read some funny nesting box topics.... ..see you later xxxxxxxxx
Mrs Frugal
Tell whoever it was who made the comments to come and look at MY Eglu. They've not seen a dirty Egu till they've seen what my girls have done in theirs !
Sheilaz
...whereabouts is it in the gallery, Rebecca? Would you like Shona to tell you some jokes?

Egluntyne
I wouldn't like the Eglu Inspector General to drop around here today. For some reason both Eglus are full of chicken s***. I didn't put it there. It just appears. As long as the hens are well looked after and you love em to bits, nowt else matters.
Egluntyne
Hey Beauty Box!!! I've just noticed your location!! I spent part of my childhood in Stockport. I went to Saint Winifred's school, you know, "Grandma We Love you" etc although I'm delighted to report that I was never in the Choir. I'm often over that way. Hope you're feeling happier. Sheilaz
I could sing a song if you wanted?! Oh, thank you Shona, that would be lovely....(she said politely whilst backing out of the door with the tea tray "Aagggghhh!") Rebecca, I do hope a bad day turns out better for you. xx
Charlottechicken
I could sing a song if you wanted?! Er no thanks it has only just stopped raining here My Eglu is lovely and clean on the outside, the inside however is a different matter My chickens are obviously just for keeping up appearances It's a bit mean to comment on the cleanliness of an animals accommodation , they don't know how to use a mop and bucket after all
The Dogmother
I haven't seen the comments, but that is soo mean! Big hugs from here too Rebecca.
Aunty e
http://club.omlet.co.uk/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=8148 It's here. Anyway, only two of them are mean, the other isn't, so please don't feel too bad. I had a quick look through the gallery and noticed that there seems to be a bunch of people who believe that chickens use flushing toilets. And wipe their feet before they get into the eglu. Your eglu looks fine to me, and your chickens look very healthy and happy. Heaven only knows what they'd have thought of mine at the end of every week. Mrs Frugal
The people who posted those comments obviously don't have chickens of their own and have never been to a farmyard where things are considerably dirtier! It only looks like a bit of mud off their little starfish feet! We really should provide our chickens with doormats and wall to wall carpets, shouldn't we ! Goodness, they should have seen my Eglu when my girls were in their other run! The inside and outside used to get filthy when it rained! Cate in NZ
What nasty small minded people to post such unpleasant remarks Don't let them get to you. At least one responder was nice, and your eglu looks fine to me..... just like mine far more often than not. I have tried to install doormats and flushing toilets , but the chickens just won't have it. Strange creatures that they are they prefer the farmyard effect
Chicken on a mission
OMG they must that type of person that hoovers everytime someone walks through a room The amount of mess a chicken can produce is only comparable with that of a child...or a husband I know it is tough when you get critisised but you have to realise that the comments are reflection on the person that made them rather than on you
Guest
I've just gone out to collect the daily eggs, and my eglu is looking far worse than that! The girlies have had themselves a damp dustbath, then a wander around a muddy run, stood in the rain, then traipsed half the mud into the eglu! Don't take those stupid comments to heart - obviously they've never kept chickens. Here - have another biscuit!
bunee1
It would seem they are random guests that arn't very polite i had one of these comments too and promptly deleted it.....
Mrs Frugal
If it makes you feel any better, Rebecca, Graham's just got me to check the IP addresses of the comment posters and two of them are from the same deluded person! The other IP address is very close to that one as well so all three could easily be from the same person.
The Dogmother
Ooo er! Nutters, the lot of them! Charlottechicken
Shona - my Sadie must've had a mudbath this morning too - I went home at lunchtime and was wondering where the strange brown chicken came from I've got a strange coloured chicken today as well! Just read those comments, unbelievable, obviously someone who has never been near the countryside or any sort of farm animal. Chickens don't take their shoes off before they go indoors. Beauty-box your eglu looks perfectly normal and clean to me, the only bit of 'dirt' I can see is on the roosting bars and mine are like that the first time my chickens walk over them after they have been cleaned, and even more so on a wet day like today! Don't worry about stupid people making inflammatory comments.
