Hen Watch
Mark, Great snow pics. We had similar here a few weeks ago, but our British authorities couldn't cope. Run out of grit for roads, people could not get to work and worst of all, the schools were shut and my children had 3 days off...... Only in the UK eh? Cate in NZ
What fabulous pictures, I love your orange cube, and the snow looks great . I notice no signs of the chickens though....are they sensibly hiding away in a dry, sheltered and snow free area perhaps For a moment I thought you had snow in August You'd have to head down here if you wanted snow in August
Guest
Now Mark I'm going to have to remind you that you are using the BRITISH forum so no confusing us with your silly American backward dates. From my days working for Ford the major things to remember are.... The first floor is up one level - you enter on the GROUND floor. Dates are day, month, year. We have TOMATO SAUCE not Ketchup Lifts are not Elevators We walk on the PAVEMENT not the sidewalk Cars have BOOTS - elephants have trunks. I'm sure there are many many more that I can't remember. I was very confused as to why you were posting about something that happened last AUGUST! Do not try and confuse us. BTW - the orange CUBE looks great! Valkyrie
Pengy, how about a flat is where people live not a punctured tyre. I don't know whether it is the same in the US, but when my cousin came over from Canada and we were out at a restaurant with my mum and dad, OH asked her how her condom was coming along. After dead silence everyone roared with laughter - condominium (flat/apartment) she corrected.

Guest
I was reading a novel set in Oxford by Elizabeth George, who is American. It was a murder mystery, and in the 'scene' where the forensic examiners were inspecting the victim they kept talking about 'shooting' the body. I couldn't understand why the authorities had guns, and why they wanted to shoot someone who was already dead. Some time later it dawned on me they were talking about taking photographs
