feeling guilty :0(

Recommended Posts

I should have been inside doing housework, washing and ironing but it was sunny!

I've spent all afternoon with the girls in the garden, I planted some potatoes and some lettuce seeds in pots, got some pots ready for my patio carrots, cleaned the girls out and sat in the sun

I'm too exhausted now to do anything! I'll make tea and perhaps do a small amount of ironing and bung another load of washing in but I should have dome more than that

I'm a catholic, doesn't take much for me to feel guilty

Im not catholic, so you can borrow my non-religion for a few minutes if you want!

Seriously, imagine if you had done the opposite today. If you'd spent all day inside doing housework you'd still be worn out but regretting not making the most of the weather and spending time outside.... :D

Sounds to me as though you have had a really productive day Poet. Sewing seeds which hopefully will turn into food, fettling your chickens so they will be happy and lay lots of eggs :) soaking up the rays which will provide you with Vit D and is very good for you. Much better than doing housework which will all need doing again in a week. I spent the day taking stuff up to the dump and then fruitlessly searching for some small peat pots to do some more planting, seems there is a national shortage of them

Don't feel guilty make the most of the sunshine. Housework can be done another time when the weather's rubbish. Sadly I didn't see any of it I am on nights :(

As for peat pots , try improvising. We used loo roll tubes filled with compost, they have the advantage that you can write on them in marker pen and no plant tags required!

We spent the afternoon waiting for a mechanic to turn up to jump start the camper van (flat battery from standing since the New Year :( ) then taking it for a run to make sure the battery got charged up.

That didn't feel very productive but it had to be done.

Guilt is a wasted emotion!

Plus, as said before, ignoring the sunny day and staying indoors would have been worse!

Anyway, one of my favourites, it's so true;

"What is this life if, full of care,

We have no time to stand & stare?"

:D:D:D:D:D I'm glad you went outside & relaxed! Life is for living.

WOW that looks ace!!!

I did buy a jumper pack at the New Year which the guy in Halfords assured me would jump start a Mercedes Sprinter van (the base vehicle for our camper) but we didn't get to test it until last week... and it spectacularly failed.

The mechanic turned up with a £600 pack which he said woould start an artic from flat... but a little expensive for us.

Well have a look for one of those in your link (didn't have time to call in there yesterday on the way home). It already looks way better than our existing one.

Thanks. I just came on for a moan cos your afternoon was more productive than ours. Didn't expect to get an answer to my problem. (Shoulda known betta)

I got up early - did the chooks. Let them all out to play round the garden - very amusing today. Made a batch of butterfly cakes & went & delivered them to mum with her card I also made her & her prezzie. Came home & made some marmalade with ginger wine in & am about to play Mahjong.

Your life is there to do what you want with - never feel guilty!

Babe, bless your heart. Take heed, guilt doesn't enter my vocabulary. I like to do all those things, but just remember, as soon as the other half pull into the drive-way, switch off TV, sling the coffee cup in the dishwasher out of sight, lightly mist the face with Evian water to make it look like you've been sweating like a hog, and indulge yourself only momentarily in what looks like hard work you have been indulging in for the best part of the day. Works every time :) x

You don't have to explain yourself to the other half! You do what you want to do!

If you have to be busy doing stuff for the other half all the time & be a Cinderella - then I'm sorry - but it's not right.

On the other hand - get a steam generator iron - it whizzes through the ironing...or take the ironing board outside on a nice day - best of both worlds!

It's all about compromise. An hours ironing, just clean one room, make a quick cake, then enjoy sittin out together in the sun, watching chooks & eating cake!

What did OH do yesterday? That way you might not feel so guilty?
