Single hen

Oh poor Davina has come a cropper..... Had been out for a bit this afternoon, and on my return a neighbour popped his head over the fence to say, "Your white Hen has got over the fence over into the field and is in the mouth of a rather large Dog"

So down the garden I ran, no Davina in the Hens garden, out of the gate into the field, and there she was a huge trail of feathers, and she was being shaken like a ragdoll in the mouth of a Dog. My poor girl, but she was a dare devil and I did warn her, and you can't blame the Dog (or his owner who was sheepishly standing there not quite knowing what to do or say)

Doris Bluebell and Chopper are now wondering where their friend has gone

Thank you for all your kind thoughts, it is indeed a sad day, she was a sweet little thing, with an unfortunate sense of adventure. My friend lost her young daughter 3 years ago, and is quite sure she will be excited to have a Hen to love and look after, a nice thought, which makes me smile

This was how my two children dealt with loosing our old Labs, they were going to live with Uncle Bryan, who had died suddenly the February before, stealing his toys/tools & running round with them (something they loved to do as youngsters but their bodies were not willing as oldies ).
