Sadly this afternoon Meany was PTS. She was barely alive by the time we got to the vet, but still she held on to life.

A real fighter as some of you will know, she fought a bacterial infection & decided to live many times, when she was going to be PTS the next day, she had other ideas.

Bless her resting now, no more fighting it!

Her last day was spent in the summer house the sun on her & a breeze, She got up this morning with a lump under her vent, egg size & hard. (why on a Sunday) having seen vet Friday & got diff antibiotics for the bacteria yesterday!

So sad but as many of you will know, but she had months of retirement as head chook , being fully feather & biggest fattest soonest & treated like a princess!

She went to the vet in an open box being talked to & stroked not hung by her ankles on a conveyor belt

,and still with the sun on her back.

I cried as is expected & put the radio on in the car on the way home .
