Hi, has anyone been to see Marley and Me and what did you think of it?

 

I confess I hadn't read the book so didn't know what to expect.

 

There was some fantastic acting, (by the dog), didn't think much of the human leads. I confess that before I went someone had told me the dog dies in the end , and there was one point when I sat there wishing it would get on with it so we could go home

I haven't seen the film, I read the book expecting it to be really good as lots of my friends had raved about it but I didn't think it was that good. I will probably wait to see it on Sky.

Don't let me put you off. Perhaps I have very strange taste (see book club thread ). I read the book and it was ok, I just wasn't in floods of tears or laughing my head off.

Well i enjoyed the book and the film, it is written in a very light hearted and funny way which would appeal to everyone even youngsters........My daughter is 12 and i took her to the cinema on Monday to see the film we went armed with lots of tissues and we needed them everybody was blubbing by the end even the Grandad who we sat next to.

My daughter has seen the film and read the book and recommended the book to me, i thought it was 'ok' sort of magazine story type read, didn't do alot for me maybe because i'm not much of a dog person lol

I read the book on holiday and it was good and light hearted and perfect for a holiday read. The film looks like it might be rather sickly to me though so I won't be rushing to the cinema.

Very light hearted film, didnt have me in stitches of laughter but the last 15 minutes extremely sad and moving very much like Benjamin Button!
