Warning!! Water butt near-disaster!

Recommended Posts

My new little cat Tabitha went outside for the second time on Sunday morning. I went upstairs for five minutes. When I came back down, she shot back in to the kitchen from outside, wide-eyed and absolutely soaking wet and dripping everywhere. I suddenly remembered that we've got a water butt with a lid missing, which I've forgotten to replace, and realised she'd just fallen in.

THANKFULLY it'd been raining a lot the previous few days, and it was full to the brim, so she'd been able to grab hold of the side of the butt and clamber out.

It just doesn't bear thinking about if it hadn't been full

Lucky escape! That's one of her nine lives gone. Still she won't do that again.

One of our kittens fell in the pond when fighting with his sister when he was about 8 months old. Has kept well clear since but gosh it took him a long time to dry himself off! He must have been licking himself clean for about an hour!

I've passed on all your good wishes :D You're right, she's decided she's going to be an indoor cat for now.

No wonder there's the saying about cats and their nine lives. I didn't know whether to laugh or gasp in horror at your story about the toilet.

I wonder do tabbies tend to end up, er, chunky? I once knew a very large tabby called Jarvis. He was a lovely boy, and so fat he kind of sploodged over the edges of the chair he used to lie on.
