Just had my oven cleaned by **Simply Clean** He was here for 4 1/2 hours. Well, it is a big oven.

 

He's done a fantastic job. Can recommend. In fact I've booked him again to come in November. It won't take him so long then I hope.

Aha - I took their number down a few months ago. One of our neighbours uses them from time to time - and she is reeeeeaaaalllly fussy, so thought that was a bit of an endorsement too. Sad to say I have still persevered with elbow grease and numerous wonder cleaners - and most of the stuff that has come off is the design that tells you what gas ring and what regulo you are using. Nowadays cooking is guesswork!

But I am getting to the point where it needs doing and thankies for the timely reminder and recommendation.

Oops she used Ovenclean. Bah - I wonder if Simply Clean will shoot over here - they can have a mini holiday!

I still have happy memories of when Cookerburra came and cleaned my oven ... *sigh*.

 

Perhaps it's time to get the old Omlet steam cleaner out again .

We do have a self clean oven - woohoo! Just switch it on, it does what it has to and then I just have to wipe it down with a damp cloth et voila!

 

 

[but I don't do it often enough and it is absolutely minging! ]

I did mine with the steam cleaner, hard work but it was worth it.

 

But that was last year .. and it's minging again, it does have a self-clean programme but that doesn't clean the door and the shelves etc. Keep meaning to ring Cookerburra or similar, trouble is I'm never at home during the day. Do they do weekend visits, I wonder?

 

I promised myself I'd get it done this year!

I use Cookerburra twice a year.

They are a local firm which was started by a pair of Aussie boys - hence the name

 

They are fantastic & make it look like new.They actually dismantle it, take it out to the van in bit & dip it in cleaning stuff.

 

Its a true deep clean - amazing

I've seen the Cookerburra van around here. My cooker's clean, but it's so ancient that I'd be embarrassed for anyone else to clean it I'm not too sure that it'd survive being taken apart either.
