poachedegg
Just thought I would share - youngest son now 15 and a bit has been attending Alder Hey in Liverpool since about the age of 4 regarding his growth. They have basically monitored him over the years to ensure each year he was growing and gaining weight more than the average as he was a small weight baby and continued to be small as a toddler. Fortunately as he has continued to this, growth hormones have not been necessary. Today he has been measured and has reached 5ft 2 - which is fantastic as there was going to be a possibility he wouldn't make 5ft and now weighs 6.5 stone. Today he has been discharged as he has now reached puberty and the consultant is confident he will continue to grow for the next 9 - 12 months, so might get another inch or 2 on him yet! Oh I don't know - he gets out of school, gets his Mum and Dads full, undivided attention for the afternoon and then chocolate from the shop after!! He did actually say could we do it anyway next year but just miss the hospital bit out!!
Nicola H
That is brilliant news............I hope he continues to grow in the next 12 months, it must be such a relief that he hasn't needed the growth hormone.
ubereglu
That's great news! He must be pleased too as it means fewer hospital visits-I was similar when I was told I no longer had to go to the orthoptist when I was younger!
