Ain't Nobody Here
Heard on the radio the other day some excuses that people had given as to why they were late for work/school. Some were downright ridiculous - "my window was open, it was foggy and the fog got in and obscured the clock" . One was a girl who was on the bus going to school when she realised her hamster was in her pocket so she had to go home to drop him off . I can see how that could happen . Patricia W
I can remember taking my mouse to school. Why not- they fit beautifully into a pocket and don't make a sound - not like other pets. Tricia
LisaP
Seriously cute We had a hamster who loved climbing into OHs shirt pocket - "Ooops, word censored!"ody else's but I don't think he ever used him as an excuse. Lisa P

tiggerlady
When i was 11 the lab was giving away mice,so I had one..managed to keep it up my sleeve all the way home in the car.Its home(temporarily I hasten to add) was a Milk Tray box with air holes in it(you can tell I had really thought it through cant you!) Unfortunately during the night it ate its way out of the box..what a surprise..and under the kitchen units.I then had to come clean and tell Dad the next day. After practically demolishing the kitchen to find aforementioned mouse he wasnt best pleased! Unfortunately it was never found..but the back door was always open during the day 'cos we lived in Africa at the time,so I like to think it made an escape to freedom...Needless to say now all pets are thoroughly researched and suitable accomodation sorted before they arrive!! Alis girls
In 1996 when about 6 months pregnant with 1st son I travelled to work from hendon to the Isle of Dogs . One day at Moorgate they wouldnt let us get off the train as a man with a gun was running amok. Needless to say no one questioned my excuse when I eventually waddled in hot, tired and fat and very thirsty. No pregnant lady could think up something so novel. Valkyrie
When I was working in London the train I was on was held in limbo for about half to three quarters of an hour - eventually it pulled into the next station and a couple more of my fellow colleague squeezed on. It wasn't until we got to Waterloo that the announcement came - apologies for the delay - there was a cow on the line! They didn't believe us when we got to work. In those days there was still quite a bit of scrub land between Staines and Ashford and cows were always grazing there - one had escaped onto the tracks.
