Day 20 and I have 3 eggs pipped . I have 9 Salmon Faverolles, 3 Lavendar Araucanas and 4 Mottled Pekins eggs (none of my Shetlands were fertile ). On another sad note from my last hatch I thought I had 4 boys and 2 girls, giving me my long awaited Splash Maran.....the boys had huge combs and wattles from 2 weeks, now Connie, at 7 weeks, has decided to grow hers , so looks like another Marans hatch with no Splash (I think I'll just buy one ). It also gives me the dilemma of introducing the one Blue Maran, I've only ever introduced 2-4 chicks

Shame about the Shetlands and the lack of female Splash

 

Definitely buy a Splash girlie because that'll help with introductions!

Another Pekin just popped out of an egg that was barely pipped last time I looked . I'll manage to sleep, after 10 or so hatches I'm past staying up all night.....spent the 1st few on a big cushion with a blanket round me .

One of the Favs has badly curled toes, worst I've seen....was going to cull it straight away but decided to give it a go and it's now tottering around with cardboard shoes, objecting very loudly.....fingers crossed.

I had to make similar shoes for Claudia. She soon got used to them and they did their trick and could be abandoned after about 5 days.

I only got two faverolles and 2 Jubilee Orps out my last hatch of 12 eggs , 1 boy and Girl of each, I love the faverolles their hairy toes and legs are so cool.
