Well, I went to the auction, and the house sold for considerably more than we offered, and more than we'd have been prepared to pay I think. Anyway, as we didn't have the money there and then, it wasn't going to happen. BUT we may well have the other one, we've put an offer in, which was rejected, but they've given us a very strong hint that if we can go a little bit higher, then the place is ours. So am speaking to OH at lunchtime and fingers crossed, we may have a lovely suburban paradise to call our own and bye-bye to Hackney

 

If they accept our offer, I'll post a link to the estate agents blurb for your delectation...

Two of the bedrooms are very small, but that's ok, because we have very small people to put in them (or we will).

This is the one we're paying a bit more for, because it doesn't need a lot of work! It's really out of our price range, but we're going to have the mortgage over a bit longer to make it work.

 

So much room for chickens! And although it shouldn't be our first thought, mine actually was that we would be unlikely to lose another cat to the road on a cul de sac, with a huge back garden

 

We have cunning plans for an extension, as when estates and death duties are sorted out in a year or so, we will inherit a bit of money. I'm thinking lovely open plan kitchen/diner across the back....

Best of all - you're going to be about a mile away from where I live! So any time you want chicken-sitting or cat care, give me a shout. In fact, let me know when you're moving in and I'll come round with a cake!

 

PS I love the description 'space for small pond'. Does that mean they dug a hole but didn't finish it off, or just that it looks as if a pond would fit there!
