Valkyrie Posted July 20, 2009 Author Share Posted July 20, 2009 We had a couple of spits at about 6.30 - not enough to wet the ground. I think it was a token gesture after the forecast was for rain. Then it turned out sunny and quite a nice end to the day - still a few big clouds around. It's hard to tell whether it has rained after dark - looks like raindrops on the roof of my car. The sun is trying to break through so we have a bright grey area (not sure whether I can see a bit of blue - too near the brightness to focus on colour) and according to the forecast it is supposed to get worse. Sparrows hatched three chicks on Sunday, only one left Mum doing little foraging in this rain even though I've put out mealworms. No sign of dad since the flood last night. Valkyrie Posted July 22, 2009 Author Share Posted July 22, 2009 It was a bit dull at first and then the sun came out for a while. Now it looks like rain at any time. It's very windy and so the clouds are blowing over rather quickly - and it is still quite warm - been hoovering so far and I have had to stop to cool down. Of course, yelling and chasing after pesky pigeons doesn't help - that and the fuming temper after it battered everything in the greenhouse in an effort to escape. Had to grab it in the end, gave it a good talking to and released it. It'll be back to wind me up again.
