I've got such a cute Chicken, um, I mean Son.

Recommended Posts

My DS1 is coming up to three (end of July). He is a bit poorly at the moment, with Hand, Foot and Mouth (again  ). His tongue is all sore with blisters so he is struggling to pronounce words.

Anyway, I was trying to get his pull ups changed after he had er, well, pooed and he hates being changed. So, hes grumbling, wriggling and moaning and generally making the task a nightmare.

In an attempt to distract him I asked 'Are you a snake?', 'No' he replied, 'Are you a.. Monkey?', 'No', 'Are you a... Cow?', 'No', 'Are you a.... Chicken?' to which he lisped very excitedly 'Yesh, buk, buk, buk, buk' and then laughed loudly. :D

Completely random post but, he was just such a cute chicken. :D

Aww how cute!

Can someone explain what hand foot and mouth is please? .

I hope he's better soon :D

I didn't think it was common in the UK, but I believe it is contagious and with air travel being so common I don't see why we wouldn't have it here. My friend in Australia told me about it earlier this year (she has a toddler) I'd never heard of it before.

I'm not sure of the symptoms, Blisters (to hands, feet and mouth?) and general poorliness?

Not pleasant anyway. Hope your little chicken is feeling better. Any idea how long it lasts for?

Though it has a similar name, it is completely un-related to the Bovine 'Foot and Mouth'. It is quite common now. I believe it first appeared in around the 1950's in Australia. This is the second time DS1 has had it, my DD had it when she was small too. I suspect that my DS2 will go down with it soon, considering the amount of time he spends playing with DS1.
