theherd123
After a consultation with a specialist today i have been advised to give up wheat & dairy in order to help with my daughters eczema (im still feeding her) Im already a vegetarian so giving up wheat and dairy is a big deal for me! I'll do anything for my little girl if it helps her eczema. Oh and i cant do citrus fruit either. So.....anyone got any great recipes as im beginning to wonder what im going to live off for the next few months!
ClaireG
Adam had to have a diet with no wheat, diary, egg, citrus or tomatoes because of his eczema, thank goodness he has grown out of it now. Rice pasta isn't too bad but rice bread was and most of the soya products wern't too bad. I also used to make spelt bread for him which was ok. Looks like you'll be having to live of rice and pasta and potatoes with diffrent veg and veg based sauces. Have the Drs told you how long to stay off the wheat, diary and citrus for before trying to reintroduce them? Have they given you acess to a nutrionist? Adam was under one and she was really helpful for recipe ideas etc.
Charlottechicken
I am sure I read something about chef John Torode having eczema, and cutting out food from the nightshade family, that includes tomatoes and potatoes apparantly He said once the eczema had gone he was able to re-introduce these foods back into his diet and the eczema has not come back. Good luck
theherd123
Thanks for your help. TBH im feeling quite down about it. Im a foody and just surviving today is quite a challenge - no breakfast as i just couldnt find anything i could eat. Ive had a banana and 6 slices of cardboard for lunch & it looks like the same again for dinner Im not mad on veg - yes slightly crazy as im a vegetarian, so its not like i can eat plates of that. Not much help from the specialist as she presumes i will be drinking soya milk and other soya products Last time i went dairy free i tried some fake cheese called Sheeze - it looked and probably tasted like the shavings from a ped-egg! Omelette anyone?

craftyhunnypie
Breakfast - boiled eggs followed by some porridge made with water? Lunch - jacket potato, salad, tuna & sweetcorn. Dinner - quorn & veg stir fry with rice noodles Just a thought. Emma.x
