Best liner/ bedding for drop tray

I don't do tug of war with Ruby either, she loves hide and seek though - finding me when I have hidden, and also the 'leave it' game where you put something in front of her (favourite toy or treat) and ask her to leave it then wait to see how long before you release her to get it.

Well Lola is 11 weeks old now and went for her 1st walk today. This morning we walked into the village as my sister was going to a friends. She was actually suprisingly good, she was wary of cars but soon settled down. We didn't meet any other dogs though. We have been taking to her to meet my aunties welsh terrier and her MIL's dogs so she has had contact with dogs before we were allowed to take her out.

 

We then took her to Tittesworth resevoir this afternoon. It was very busy so lots of people came and said 'hello' to her, we had to warn them of her biting first though. We met a few other dogs and she was ok with them considering she was tiny compared to most of them!

 

Dad(who didn't want her in the 1st place and is now besotted) has just taken her down to the canal next to our house. She has probably had way to much exercise for her little legs but its so exiciting her being able to go for walks!

 

We have had no more accidents in the house which is good. She is getting better with her biting. We brought a long lead from a pet shop and it has worked wonders so we just pull the lead and say 'leave' and it works. When we used to just say 'leave' it didn't work and when we used to nudge/push her off it just got her more excited.

 

We did give her a rawhide chew which she seemed to like but i have since read that they are not very good and one website said that they were only 10% digestible. I did buy her a nylabone thing but she is not keen on it, maybe i will smear some cheese on it. She chews her chews but gets fed up and we ideally want something she can chew on for a while rather than play with. Any ideas?

She will grow out of the nipping, a bit like toddlers grow out of putting everything in their mouths.

 

In the meantime, yelp like a hurt puppy when she does it and turn away to ignore her. She wil then come over to see if you're alrigth and be all submissive. This is when you give her a treat. You might feel a bit of a 'nana doing it, but it does work.

* Kongs *are very good at keeping young dogs occupied. They are very durable and come in different sizes. You can fill them with their own food or special treats.

 

I'm sure your local pet shop will sell them.

Well I did say i was going to post pictures a while ago and i've finally got round to it. We went to Scotland last week and Lola came with us. On the whole she was very well behaved. It was the first time she had seen the sea and she too keen after she ran through a massive rock pool and went under!

 

She has lost hair underneath her chin and we are not sure why, it's where her tags are with our telephone number and her other one to say she has been microchipped. The only thing i can think of is that the metal on them is irritating her skin. We don't want to take them off so we have started taking her collar off when she is in her crate. We were supossed to be taking her to a puppy party at our vets but it was on whilst we were away last week. At the parties they have a nurse and a dog behaviour expert but apparantly she will be too old for the next one. Mum is going to ring up and ask nicely if we can go because we havn't met many dogs that actually want to play with her and that are her size so it would be good to go.

We are sitll not sure what she is. Its funny hearing people's replies when we say we are not sure what she is crossed with. So far we have had: border collie, pitbull, terrier of some sort and lurcher. Anyone got any ideas?
