Rhapsody
To cut a long story short- Zeus needs a playmate, the two elderly girls just frown at him when he tries to rev them up (and to be fair Metz is 12 and a bit past all that) so we've been doghunting. I'd quite like another American Bulldog because they have the best temperament, hearts of gold and look scary to strangers (amd I need something robust enough to play with 42 kg of Zeus). American Bulldog Rescue may have found one for us, I'll be phoning the owner today fingers crossed then, he fits the profile-same age as Zeus, castrated, playful, good with kids. I'll keep you all posted (and I really need my head examined) R x Edited July 6, 2009 by Guest

The Dogmother
Great news Rhapsody, shame we're not nearer for him to play with Ruby - she just loves playing with bigger dogs.

Rhapsody
Drove 4 hours each way to collect dog yesterday! My Zeus now has a best friend He's very very overweight and out of shape as the elderly lady who owned him had been pulled over by him and broke her hip so didnt really walk him any more. She clearly loved him very much and it was hard for her to give him up, but it was one of those 'if you love him let him go' situations. He was called Harvey but OH's family recently had a dog called Harvey pts so we are going to call him Gavi (continuing the drinks theme, its my fave Italian wine). Him and Zeus are wrestling around on the living room carpet as I am typing this. I'll take some photies today if I can stay awake- Gavi was under the impression he should be sleeping on the bed last night so have been hefting him off all night, then it was up at 5am to play with his new best friend. I'm sure all the Omlet good wishes helped this happen. And all credit to Ann at American Bulldog Rescue for helping us. R x

The Dogmother
Fantastic news Rhapsody - can't wait to see the handsome new boy. I'm sure that a few weeks of loads of exercise and being on the right diet will sort him out - you'll have to start a weight loss thread for him! Rhapsody
A week on and we're doing OK. The boys did have a massive fight yesterday we prised them apart and hoping thats the obligatory s"Ooops, word censored!" over with- Gavi was humping Zeus and Zeus got fed up with it, so cant blame him really! Anyway-
