Thunder headache

Recommended Posts

I had a horrendous headache yesterday and we had cracking thunder and lightening last night. Isn't it funny how the change in atmospheric pressure can give you such a bad head.

Mine is still fuzzy today, so I think there is more on the way in South wales too as well as in Henley :?

I woke about 5am with just the worse thunder headache, so beware everyone in my area.....we are in for some fun!

I thought we might be - yesterday my eldest son had the sort of nosebleed that gushed so much blood he un-nerved his normally robust (male) teacher

Hope your head feels better today Sarah !

The only time I usually get a headache is when there is a storm around - I guess it is a built in barometer. Other than that I seem to be allergic to something in French red wine - I have to avoid it because it can cause a headache after two sips. Aussie wine is fine and I have never had a hangover in my life!

This morning I had to eventually take a couple of tablets because it refused to go away - it started around 5.30, and I was up at 6.30 to sort it out. We still haven't had any thunder though.

Its actually eased a bit, & the atmosphere is less oppressive here now too, so maybe we won't get a storm after all?

Shame really - the garden needs the water, the air needs to clear & Devon doesn't want to get rained on at her Prom tonight!

Have some of our rain - it hasn't stopped all day, I got completely soaked taking Dan back and fore to nursery this morning. They had a beach party today and he had to wear his bathers under his clothes, and suncream (not that he needed it). He still went in the paddling pool - outside - despite the rain. I think all 4yr olds must be nuts.

We had lots of thunder last night too.

I had a thunder head ache too as it has been really oppressive.

However, I had a session of reflexology earlier on and that seemed to shift it. It was a bit embarrassing though as I fell asleep in the middle of it and woke myself up snoring!!

When I was little I used to get earaches and a nose bleed. Sometimes I get a migraine when its about to thunder, but I don't get woken up with them. They tend to hit me first thing in the morning when I am in a big rush, or late at night.

It was raining this morning very heavily, which is marvelous as my veggies needed it (despite me watering them last night) but does it have to be so hot and humid with it?! Its still quite muggy now. I'm almost dreading going to bed as it will be even hotter upstairs.

I was working yesterday - I am a guide at Chatham Dockyard and we had the NAtional Veterans Day event. Well - we had a few splots of rain during the day, but as the Beating the Retreat ceremony begun, the thunder strted in the distance....and then the lightening. Well the service finished and the heavens opened - everybody was soaked and as we all had about half a mile to walk to our cars - we were all soaked . As I drove home the roads were flooed, with fountains of water coming up through the drains. My car now has an ominous slooshing sound coming from somewhere - I just hope it dries out!

At home the girls had a right old moan - my daughter said they ran inside the eglu and looked out glaringly!

Wow that's a beautiful picture - it must be set on a constant snappy mode to get that. OH tried to get some pics last year - a bit of guess work, but he managed to get a teeny crack of light going over the roof. It wasn't anything like the lightening we'd been watching, but he was happy it showed a little something! I so hate being out in it, and I used to be very scared (my mum is terrified - which probably is the reason for my phobia). But I made myself watch the storms because I didn't want my two being scared. Now I don't hide under the covers at night, I get cross because it disturbs my sleep, so I go and watch instead from the safety of indoors. Although I have heard that lightening strikes can blow out the windows - which happened at the end of our road when I lived with my parents. It went the length of the road - our TV ariel was disabled and the lady next door's phone was damaged, but where the road went round a bend at the end, they lost their windows!
