The Dogmother
.. not mine thankfully! Phil's brother is a car bodywork specialist and does quite a bit of insurance and accident work. I think he thought he'd seen it all until last week. A bloke drove a Vauxhall Omega in with chewed front wings!!!! Turns out, the bloke's Doberman had convinced itself (rightly or wrongly) that there was a rat under the bonnet; the pictures below are of the damage it caused trying to get at the rat. Car is going to need two new wings and a re-spray! don't know what state the dogs teeth are in after that As Phil pointed out - a strong man with a pair of mole grips would have trouble doing that amount of damage. jackiepoppies
Reminds me of the time my sons Weimaraner as a pup chewed through the three rear seat belts of my brand new car.....and she managed it through the dog guard (OH was not a happy man and it sost a fortune to have them replaced ) Jx

Chickvic
That must have hurt the dog! But then I suppose it wouldn't have chewed the other side Never seen or heard anything like it!
Old Speckled Hen
Heavens he must have got himself into a real frenzy It's amazing what dogs will chew. I once took 25 golf balls out of a labrador and one of those large staffie collars (you know the sort .... about 2 inch wide leather, chunky buckle and adorned with staffie brasses) out of a 20lb Staffie. Collar was in two pieces only and dog wasn't even ill when first seen. The owners had missed the collar and were certain the only place it could be was inside the dog. We put the xray on the notice board where it caused much mirth for months. I had a friend who went camping with her two labrador girls in a new car where they slept happily the first night. On the second morning there were no seats in the car. They had completely trashed them.
The Dogmother
I once worked with a chap who kept his Doberman in the car while he was at work (I know, don't get me started! ) It ate most of the car interior, including the cladding inside the roof and the carpet! Served him right.
Seagazer
Wow - that is amazing although to be fair I remember the damage a rescue doberman did to my brother's kitchen so I'm not totally surprised.
WarrensWorld
Lucky it wasn't a Rottweiler, it would have eaten the car.....

Looney
no wonder the rat stayed well hidden Looks like the car already had a dent in the front of the wing panel anyway!

The Dogmother
Both wings have been pulled out of shape by the dog, so need replacing - a costly job, I understand. I don't know whether he still owns the dog though - will enquire.
