Seagazer
He's still not 100% better Ubereglu. We went out for his belated going to new school dinner last night and he ended up eating hardly anything. I think he was more nervous this morning going into school, I hope he's ok. I didn't want him to miss too many new lessons as he'll miss out on choosing where to sit etc.

Seagazer
Oh she looks lovely Lesley and very smart in her uniform. It does make you feel emotional doesn't it. YS had a bit of a melt down last night with all the homework to do. He wanted to check a word in his dictionary that primary school gave as a leaving present but we couldn't find it. Obviously the 5 other dictionaries that we have wouldn't do We gave him a lift to school again (its about a 20 minute walk away) but he said he will walk home this afternoon. He did come out of school yesterday with a smile on his face which is good. I think once he feels healthier he will get to grips with it all. He's got horrendous ulcers in his mouth at the moment so obviously needs building up a bit at the moment.
Chucky Mama
Poor little chap, it will all fall into place before you know it. Our school sends all of the Year 7's away for a couple of days camping in about 2 weeks. I helps them to bond with their tutor groups as they have to work together. Unfortunately as usual the children that most need to go are not going as their parents don't want them to I poor girl who is suffering a bit fitting in vomited on the school bus yesterday poor thing, she is going camping though as she is quite a tomboy so I think that it is the ideal opportunity to show what she is made of. My son thankfully has bounced in and says he feels like he has been their all his life. It does help that he has big bro and sis there though. Seagazer
Oh bless the poor girl, as you say she will probably do well at the camping trip. I think YS is just in a bit of shock at the moment. His older brother went to this school although left 2 years ago. We used to run the pta events so he knows the school well but obviously its a bit different when you actually have to do some work there I actually think that its better for him to walk to and from school as he'll get to know more boys and it'll make him feel more grown up. I think I'm at danger of making him feel like my 'little baby'
chickencam
Best wishes to your son. My DS struggled in year 7 he found the transition quite hard, but the school were really good with him particularly the head of year 7 at the time who has taught him since and can't believe the difference in him. Hang on in there and keep the cuddles and talking coming and he will be fine.

Helly Welly
We're lucky, the only homework so far has been covering books, which i've been doing, and a science poster. I think or school system is a bit weird though as they move to High school in Year 6, not Year 7.
Chickvic
Well my DD survived her first day (part-time - full time tomorrow!) Quite enjoyed herself by all accounts - looking forward to going in tomorrow
