Does anybody else ever feel...... Part # 3

Recommended Posts

Plum

I have been spending my morning in with my girls. The newbies are still petrified of me  However, have discovered the joys of meal worms :vom:

I have now completed my interior design of the WIR, but it now looks like the previous big brother "rich house/poor house" as the 3 oldies have lovely Mezzanine levels and dustbaths and 12ft by 6ft of space, where as the newbies have one perch and 6ft by 6ft space!

I did let the newbies in the big run whilst the oldies were having a bit of a free-range. Leela was looking interested at the ladder of the cube, went up 2 rungs of the ladder and then chickened out  The others huddled in the corner under the table!

OH has gone out, but when he gets back I'll have him to take loads of pics and will upload them :D

:D

Its taken until now for my 2 newbies to settle in with Nutty. Now they free-range together happily, without Nutty chasing them off

They all come running now when I go outside with some mash, but the Newbies aren't too keen on grapes.

We've just had some excitement and not the good sort.

Leela managed to escape into the big girls, when I went into the Introduction section to sort out their water. Donna who is normally my nicest chook started laying into her. Poor Leela was petrified, but when I ran in the try and rescue her, she ran the other direction to get away from me and then got it in the neck from Rose

Thankfully, OH dashed in, picked up Donna and Rose whilst I cornered and picked up Leela and returned her to her sisters. Bless her, she went straight into her house, Grace went in to check on her, and now the two of them won't come out. :(

I can now see why there are so many threads dedicated to Introduction

Keep on looking at the screen and you will be zzzzing before long! At the moment I am gradually losing the will to live (yet another thing to put me in an early grave) with Photobucket. That is really duuulllllsville.

animated-7.gif I left on page 3 and came back to page 21!

I've been at Nottingham Uni at VetSim - the had alpacas!, skunks, meercats, snapping turtles, snakes, tortoises, spiders, birds or prey, a dog, a rabbit and chickens!! and we got to handle them all 8)

The marine mammal course was good, I can now administer first aid and refloat (with permission from a vet) Marine Mammals and there's a chance we will be called to a beach to help out - not very likely in Birmingham :lol:

I'll get some photos uploaded soon

... and Summer Holiday is all over now :( was good fun though

Sounds like you had a brilliant time. My Canadian cousin has a snapping turtle called "Howard". He was a rescued one, but he has grown huge - boy are they quick when they go for food! I certainly wouldn't put my hands anywhere near him. Also his tank takes up most of the living room - there was talk of taking him to a sanctuary, but he hasn't gone just yet. She also has a few box turtles and a huge python. She breeds mice for feeding her menagerie and she also sells to the pet shop either as food for their animals, or for pets themselves. She uses them as a barter type system for bedding etc. She is an anthropologist and has been doing a breeding programme with the mice - very contented, happy mice, good mothers, docile males, nice colours and big! But her thing is really monkeys - we always have to find monkeys somewhere with her - thankfully she hasn't any at her house - yet!

Skunks eh? Love those little fluffy things!
