BeckyBoo
Good luck, I tried slimming world and lost a stone - a year after I stopped and I still have't put it back on (although I do creep back up the scales every now and then! ) and of course that's not to mention that I actually needed to lose two stone but we won't go there! Hope you do well, BeckyBoo
Sam Palmer
Good luck and go for it! It's much easier to get in the right frame of mind when you have a target like a holiday to aim for. I do Rosemary Conley and joined last March as we were going to the USA in August. It was a great incentive and helped me keep focussed. I lost 2 and a half stone before we went and have now almost reached 4 stone, though it's much harder now I don't have that Dream Holiday to spur me on! craftyhunnypie
Thanks everyone. Have done it before a long time ago. Lost loads, so I know I can do it. But then hit a low time in my life & gave up. I'm very settled & happy in my life these days so hopefully I'll do it. I'm very much looking forward to my kebabs done on the barbie tonight. We made some last week, when I wasn't watching my weight & they were yummy. Emma.x

Charlottechicken
Ooh, good luck Emma, well done for taking the step to join too! A colleague who retired two years ago came back into the office yesterday and stunned us all by how fabulous she looked! She joined Slimming World and lost two and a half stone in 5 months She is now slimmer than me (I am 9 stone) and looks ten years younger. She has lost weight from areas you think are hard to lose from, like her arms, tummy and saddlebag area. We were all still talking about her today! I hope you do as well as she has Emma! Chickpea
Yay go for it! I lost two stone with Slimming world & so far so good (touch wood) it's not gone back on yet either!
craftyhunnypie
I had a right meat feast for tea tonight. Steak covered in loads of cracked black pepper, large homemade pork kebabs with peppers, mushrooms & onion all done on the barbie- served with a piled high plate of broccolli, cauli & carrots. I'm stuffed!! I made up some sugar free jellies in moulds - but it still hasn't set. Heaven knows why - I'm certain I made it up right. So had to have a yogurt instead. Ah well. I have loads of eggs off Button my frizzle, that I'm going to turn into scrambled egg for brekkie. Hubby wants a cake - but he can whistle! happyhen_6
Best of luck with the Slimming World - I joined 6th January and have lost 1stone 2lbs - but I'm just stopping going now I don't stay for the 'meeting' bit afterwards and I'm sure it's got to be much cheaper to just stand on the scales at home now I've got the hang of ignoring the chocolate!! craftyhunnypie
I have to go 'meetings'. I like the motivation of someone behind me & seeing others who have done it. I've tried on my own in the past, but after a while it's like 'oh I'll just have a bit of this, no one is around to see'. Then soon you're at a weight you don't like again. I enjoy going to class. I don't have any friends to go out with at weekends, I don't booze or smoke, I don't have any children to account for - so it's my bit of looking after myself treat. I want to be slim & able to do what I want - no back aches, leg problems, diabetes or heart issues due to weight. If I can prevent any of those things before they happen - it has to be worth it! £4.50 a week compared to a packet of fags or a night out round the pubs & clubs is nothing & much better for me. I have my Egyptian holiday in February as my inspiration. Emma.x
Lesley
I'm not very good at going it alone either - but I don't like the meetings (SW or WW) A holiday is excellent for inspiration - like you Emma, I don't drink, smoke or go out much........I'll have to book a holiday........ happyhen_6
I don't smoke or drink very much or go out a lot either - I'm not sure where people get the energy to go out after work, family and animals! One of the children is particularly clingy just now which is what made the meetings more difficult - I'm planning on having a go at womens only swimming though, while I'm on a roll I do want to make sure it keeps coming off even if only a little at a time. The holiday does sound tempting though .....

craftyhunnypie
Thank you. I'm enjoying doing this so far. The other night I made a big pan of ratatouille. We had it with pork kebabs the other night & over jacket potatoes another day for lunch. So easy, so filling & free food. Tonight I'm at my sister's for a chinese. I'm on a green day - so have planned to have stir fried veg & boiled rice. It's syns I know - but not too many & I will enjoy it. Another 3lb & I will have lost half a stone. Ooo that will be lovely! Jules.
Go Emma Well done x It's a great feeling seeing the scales registering the pounds losses. I'm stuck at a plateau at the mo, but not too bothered as I have had lots of lovely comments from folk who haven't seen me for a few weeks, I feel tons better & its like my clothes have grown bigger to fit me really comfortably now I would like to lose another 7lb, which will make me about a size 8/10 at that weight ( 8 stone 3 if you must know ) I can maintain it without feeling deprived, & so it should be sustainable
