Egg has Pipped! *Pics* Straggler Alert!

Recommended Posts

Its a Maran, its living in a long sandwich box in the brooder at the moment as the others were trampling on it and pecking at it

It looks fine though, full of life :D

When I candled the others a couple of days ago they looked right for hatching so maybe we will get more yet, this one didnt show any signs of pipping or cheeping befroe we went to bed last night yet was up and running around the inccy this morning

O Tasha I love reading your threads especially ones about your chicks.

I wonder how you find the time to go to work with all your chickens and

chicks to look after, and then there is the land you are renting, and all the

animals you will eventually have on there!!!

no. There are still 5 Auarcana eggs in the inccy that looked promising on candling

The broody abandoned her eggs 4 days in so I put those in the inccy, they have developed so look good but I upped the humidity on day 18 so if these were a few days behind there is the chance that the chicks were affected by the humidity

They will stay in till tomorrow

The chicks are all doing well, they have their own 'igloo' in their cage ( a plastic guinea pig house)

I dont know..I do know that Araucanas are hard so that will be weeks and weeks but some of the marans have tiny combs already, I could tell on day 1 with my Welsummer but I think these will be a few weeks yet

I'm up the field building a run tomorrow so when they are older we will have plenty of room for them all, we will try to rehome cockerels with girls as pairs or trios but did get eggs from breeds we could eat just in case
