I have to say i'm amazed at all the stuff you lot have. I get rid of stuff all the time. I've got three sacks awaiting delivery to the charity shop now. I suppose this means i've always got stuff to get rid of but it's an ongoing process of decluttering. Course, i'm not including OH in this. He's an awful sentimental hoarder and gets quite moody if you try and make him look at it logically.

It's all gone very quiet on here??? - and I know a certain person has been adding to her collection

(not me!)

:oops: They shouldn't have charity shops where you can buy stuff, should they  .

I'll get back to decluttering once the boys are back at school/college. I have to find somewhere to put my new booty, don't I  .

I thought Lesley meant me for a minute, (confess a Tshirt and a couple of books, but rest was food or shampoo so OK)

Yes, I lock the doors until customers buy something...

I kept wanting to revive this thread, but I've been too busy (at the shop, ironically) and well done Egluntine. I'll join in next week when the boss returns and I can maybe not be working 7 days, handling what others have sorted, and leaving my own house looking as if it's been ransacked.

I've got rid of heaps of things :D Sadly, I can't itemise them as I just bundled them into bags or boxes and took the to the charity shops  I am fairly certain I wont have reached 100 but, boy a lot of stuff has gone and some of it, hubby doesn't even know about or realise yet. (not looking forward to the day he does, he has 'issues' when it comes to throwing things away-but I have had enough and its either the stuff or him  )

Still got a zillion things to go but its good to be decluttering, albeit slowly

:clap: That's terriffic Ygerna, well done. I only listed mine because it helped get me started, and will hopefully keep me going again next week. I'm finding it helpful to focus on what I have achieved, rather than being scared by the enormity of the task. Even one item is better than nothing, so I'll aim for that on a bad day, and a sackful on a good day.

Well done Cathy, that sounds a good incentive, and very good progress. 8)

Thanks for being kind Lesley. :D

No time until next week to really tackle the 30 years worth, but DD2 has caught the bug which is terriffic progress.

She's sorting bags of papers where I don't know which to keep, and also clothes.

Thanks for posting everyone, it's really helping me. :D

I've been too busy, too, but hoping to get a few more things out of the way over the Bank Holiday - I took two HUGE unitemised bags of clothing, books and stuff to the charity shop last Saturday, I find it's really cathartic to heave these heavy bags out of the car and stagger in with them, and then walk away empty-handed!

Right, a dull grey cloudy day here so far, although supposed to get brighter - so no excuse not to get on with clearing my clutter.

by way of a lesson, here is why we are all wanting to get rid of STUFF.

Item 21 - a brand-new, still in package, clip-frame. I bought this intending to do a photo montage to add to the others I have in the kitchen. For some reason it ended up at the foot of the stairs and has been there for weeks. I picked it up yesterday - and it's cracked, despite never having even been out of the box. If I'd put it in the proper place, or better still if I'd used it, that wouldn't have happened!

22 - set of brass house numbers, to charity shop

23 - instruction books for a TV and a camera that I no longer own

24 - yet more obsolete computer CDs

25 - pair of jeans that don't fit (I can't imagine I was ever that slim :( )

Rubber gloves and black bags at the ready, more to add later!

8) Well done Kate, I didn't want to be on my own listing items, now I'm motivated again!

Emma, that's really great that it's a joint effort. Quite unusual, it's often one partner sneaking things out. But lovely to hear, I'm going to try & get LSH involved when I've cleared some of the worst of mine & the children's, then try & have a joint effort, perhaps by next summer. I hadn't even thought of doing that, you've given me something else to aim for now, thank you!

67/9. Child handbag, purse and laptray. 70/72. Gift talc, soaps and more soaps!

73/80. More books! 81.Bag of junk clothes. 82. Unworn skirt & top, lovely colour but never really fitted, never will! (Petite, I don't think so!)
