I have a new toy

Recommended Posts

Got a Notebook for my birthday (well its not actually until August) ... but I'm sitting up in bed with it on my lap now as I type. Love it. Its great and saves cranking up the big old bertha in the study. I highly recommend getting one, they've come down so much in price and the one I got was reduced because they've bought out a new model which only differs in style not function. Perfect :D

Does anyone else have one?

Me & my sis have 1 each (using mine now)

But we've only ever had problems with ours

They over heat really easy too and they are MUCH slower than a PC and our USB port are dodgy lol (we have different Brands/Makes)

and they burn my legs too lol

Just realised i'm making them sound really bad :anxious:

Oh and beware NEVER let a dog jump on the keyboard, they pull of the keys (i'm now using a PC keyboard with mine lol)

They are good though cuz you can go pretty much anywhere in the house & Garden with them

We only have laptop , cheap acers but fine for me :D

yes they get very hot in the hot weather but found a solution:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000BVYTV/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

works a treat no more hot legs!!

This looks good, Barbara

Notebooks are supposed to be used on hard surfaces that dissipate the heat, not laps

My Mac stays nice and cool if I use it on the table or with a magazine on my lap :D

oops I'm sitting here with the mac on my legs. I love mac's :D Only issue I have is excel isn't as good on the mac as the PC however for everything else :D8) though apparently you can open your mac in windows mode for office applications and switch back to mac mode for everything else... has anyone tried this?

Happy Birthday for August Kitchens !!!

I have an old laptop from work and it's brilliant (after I upgraded it), heavy old thing, but i love it.

We were trialling netbooks at work and I borrowed one to try out at home... fabbo - so light and easy to use, althoguh I still use a plug-in laptop mouse as I hate the pads. It was an Asus one and very good.

I have the msi Wind Notebook. Wouldn't be without it now. It's so light and easy to use, and even fits into hotel safes when we are travelling :clap: . It has the big size keyboard on mine otherwise I don't think I could cope.

I don't have a problem with mine getting hot :? . Love the fact that card reader, webcam, USB ports and everything are all built in already. I never used the Disk player in my laptop anyway so I don't miss that.

Mac's stay nice and cool, To use windows programs with your mac, there are 3 ways, you can install windows on your mac and switch between them by restarting, install windows on your mac and switch between them without restating by using VMware Fusion or similar or by installing Wine on your mac, it allows you to run the programs without installing windows and best of all it is free!
