Faith Restored!

Recommended Posts

I've not been on much in recent months as we've been having a bit of a tough time of it recently.

At the end of a looong story, both our cars have broken down and are beyond economical repair (one on the way on holiday and we ended up having to cancel) and we were worrying a little about how to get to and from work and how to get kids to childminder, school etc. as we're not in a position to afford a new car.

The other morning we heard the letterbox go and there was an envelope pushed through the door, addressed to us with several hundred pounds inside. Completely anonymous! Today I had a call from a friend of mine to say her hubby's bought a new car and that his old one may cost a couple of hundred to get through the MOT but if we could do that, we would be welcome to have it. It's going through the MOT tomorrow, so hopefully it won't cost much to get sorted

This morning on the long walk to the childminder my son fell over and cut his knee. A mile or so later, I saw a car slow down, turn around and then pull up alongside us. The lady wound down the window and got out her first aid kit out so we could clean my little boy up and pop a plaster on.

I always try and see the positives in things, but must admit I've been struggling a little lately, but this really restored my faith in humanity. Complete answers to prayer and I've had a skip in my step all day today :D

Bit of a long-winded story, but thought I'd share it x

Gosh - that is a lovely story, I'm so pleased that you've had an upturn in your fortunes.

I wonder who the anonymous donor was - that's amazing! I never lose faith in human nature, so many times I have been helped by complete strangers and I believe there are more good and honest people about than the reverse.

That is a FANTASTIC story! I've had a couple of lovely things happen to me during a very hard time at the beginning of this year, it really restores your faith in humanity. There are definitely more nice people in the world than nasty. And if whoever posted several hundred pounds through your door is reading this - well done, good things come to good people, karma.:clap:

I've also just found out I've been offered a new job, and approached about another yesterday - both of which would be for more money than what I'm on now which will be a huge help to the family.

I've not dug around too much on the anonymous donor, but now suspect it's a few friends at church who've had a whip-round.

Hoping things continue on an up, since having meningitis last year, things have been a bit rough. That said, you have to keep smiling and believing things will sort themselves out. Plenty in this world worse off.

Thanks for letting me share

Great news Clur- it's lovely to look back & see how our prayers are answered, & answered very often in very unexpected ways :D

God so loves to surprise & delight us x

And it's worked, I am surprised and delighted :D The car failed the MOT but it only cost a relatively small amount to fix and it's been re-MOT'd and will be delivered to us later today!

Lovely start to the weekend
