chelsea
From our highland holiday in October. We have been lucky enough to go to some lovely places in the world, but for me Scotland is just magical. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0037.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0032.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0031.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0028-1.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0022.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0020.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/weener10/DSCI0013.jpg

Snowy
They are great Chelsea - it's a beautiful place! Is that Loch Lomond by any chance, or somewhere along the Caledonian canal? I took some very similar pics when I was there on holiday about 20 years ago - brings back memories!

Laura & CTB
Gorgeous photos - lucky you. I stayed at a remote cottage on a loch just a couple of years ago - thats where I met chickens for the first time - they were insisting on trying to break in!! Lovely memories and would love to return.

Mrs Frugal
It was the first time we'd ever driven up so far in Scotland and we just loved it. We drove up via Loch Lomond and Loch Ness then came home past the Kyle of Lochalsh. Just stunning. I'd live up there if I could!
chelsea
our first visit 4 years ago, we were hooked..we came home and said right - we're gonna move up there...prices were cheap back then and we found a lovely croft cottage with its own beach for £50k (yes £50k) and hubby chickened out, got cold feet. We have been regretting it ever since. We still go and have a look at the cottage we missed out on. Prices have gone sky high now up there. feemcg
Beautiful pics Chelsea - the last one is Eilean Donan Castle isn't it? Theres a great webcam of it and its all lit up at night (I'll try and do a link later!). I love the west coast - I was up near Oban last month but my favourite road is the one that goes from Fort William, past Glenfinnan (where the steam train was filmed in the Harry Potter movie) to Mallaig - stunning! We have been looking at staying that side. Where did you find your cottage laura?
Laura & CTB
I looked at the "Welcome Cottages" website and found it there - my only criteria was it had to have an open fire. The cottage was delightful - right on the loch edge, very peaceful and the added delight of chickens owned by the lady next door who gave us fresh eggs for breakfast (little did she know we'd been feeding her girls left over pizza and letting them in to bask in front of the fire). I'm seriously considering a second trip there......
