Advice on securing my garden please....

Recommended Posts

I have mentioned before that we have a very small garden. One side is a 5/6ft fence which is the neighbours and they have a border collie - they also have a garden on their other side where the owners are in the garden nearly all day, so I am hoping that that could be enough to deter a fox (or at least it might be the last route he would take, given a choice). At the bottom of the garden is our garage which is about 8/9ft tall, and then the other side is a 5/6ft fence which is roadside.....this side strikes me as being the most vulnerable to foxes. I am going to get DH to do his "bit" down the length of the fence, but would appreciate any other advice that others have....I have thought about putting wire along the length of this fence but this fence is the only way the cats can come and go in and out of the garden

The girls, who arrived last week (and we love them, how could we have lived without chooks???), only free roam when someone is in but I might be in the kitchen, which opens onto the garden, and I have read that a fox could try and strike then anyway.....

I really would be grateful for any advice - tia :-)

My own set up is simliar to maryannlucy's. I was not sleeping properly as I was so worried about the very early morning prowlings of Mr Fox. Mr DH often sees one a few roads away if he has to go to work at some unglodley hour.

I did some Googling yesterday and ordered a Foxwatch and had 'the convo.' about DH 'watering' the garden. Which he duly did - having popped to the pub for a swift pint on his way home. Let's hope the Foxwatch comes today.

Had a decent night's kip for the first time since Saturday.

fyi - I got mine from here.
