Amy Walpole
I would very much like to have one of my hens go broody, as I would like to increase my flock. I have a cross leghorn, who I seriously doubt would be interested; a Suffolk Blacktail who may be in the running, and a lovely Mendlesham Blue, who I think would be the most likely canidate. Does anyone know of any circumstances where one could encourage a hen to go broody? Could I leave the eggs in one of the two nesting boxes, and see if any of them become interested? Any ideas/ experience would be most welcome, Amy. x
Redwing
You need to get your hands on a silkie or pekin, they go broody at the drop of a hat Leaving the eggs in the nest box will help certainly

Scramble
If you were closer, you could borrow my Yolko Fluffed up and broody as we speak
Janty
I have two brahmas, 1 cochin, 1 mini Orp and two pekins all broody. I have broody cages everywhere trying to discourage them.
Amy Walpole
That's sweet of you, never mind! LOL! Seems as I want the broodiness, no-one else does! If it a good time of the year for your birds to be broody? Do they think it's spring?!
