Guess what happened to me today!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Seriously - I did. I was 17, and working away from home, as a nanny. The parents were away for a long weekend, I was watching Eastenders, and this humungous thing appeared from a pile of logs.

After phoning various people, I phoned the hubbie of a friend, who came round and got it - he was a fireman, he was on duty, and they came around in the fire engine, sirens blaring.

I don't mind mice, will happily murder rats but am terrified of spiders :?

I usually ring Phil if Biscuit won't eat it. He comes rushing down to catch it gently in his hands (can you imagine it tickling :shock::? ) and talks to it as he puts it outside. I am shouting at him to squash it!

Heights and spiders are my phobia, not scared of anything else really, recently watched them putting some stitches in me and wasn't the slightest bit phased.

No - it's cheaper to use the vacuum :wink::roll: I love my Dyson because I can leave it turned on and watch until all the legs have dropped off :?

What was this thread about? :?- edit: mice! we're not too far off topic then - for a change!

:shock::shock::vom:

I have to deal with spiders in our house :roll: OH really hates them. He has got a little better in dealing with them in front of the children :roll: The biggest I have shoved outside was to big to fit its legs under a pint glass :shock: I caught a toe or two on the rim :shock::roll: Another reason to get a cat :D

Eugh!!! Ghastly! My mother gets spiders that big too! My brother (who freezes at the sight of them) tells me that the large spiders are a southern thing and they don't live in Scotland. Is that true???

I had a new experience today - I guess it'll teach me not to multi-task!

I was on the phone to my mother - always lengthy - and decided to empty the poop tray and nesting box before it got dark. I put on my gloves and shoved the phone between my shoulder and ear. As I bent down it shifted a bit and felt unstable so, thinking I hadn't touched anything yet, I moved it back into position with my gloved hand, carefully!

Oh, dear! What a pong! and when I looked down I could see bits of aubiose clinging to my newly-washed hair. I know, I should have put my hair up as well! I have now rinsed the offended section and the smell is now only faint. I think it's a first for me though - chicken poo in my hair! :shock: Yuk, yuk, yuk!

And my brother will be terribly disappointed! One day he will move to Scotland I am sure, but the lack of great big, muscley, hairy spiders has always seemed a huge bonus to him.

DD2 and I would like to spend the summer in Scotland because it doesn't usually get as hot as it does down in the south - and we don't like it hot! Not another myth, surely?
