Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 8

Recommended Posts

Lewis may have found some Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons or some frizzle hens for sale :D

They're available, but now I'd have to decide which to go for  and then convince the parentals it'd be a good idea.

Dad saw some Buff Orpingtons at the farm and really liked them, and even said he'd like to get some, so I know what he'll say

Not sure if they'd be too big for the others and the eglu though? They're 9 or 10 weeks old I think.

I hope they don't mind me posting the photos :)

They're from 2 different breeders in different directions so I can't get both.

They're both a couple of weeks older than mine, I suppose the frizzles being smaller would be more practical to do introductions with as they're smaller and there won't be too much of a size difference.

ok after seeing the pics I say Frizzles, cos they look funnier.

My dad just brought Danny home from gymnastics and he said the instructor asked Dan what he likes best about school, Danny replied 'school dinners'. She then asked what do you like best about school dinners. Daniel's reply? Eating them! At least I know he's enjoying them. :D

He has 4 of them left but I don't know which 4, I emailed him about the black and white one - I like her too JJ

Dad just said I have to sell the cockerels before I get the new hens because otherwise I'll just want to keep them all

If we sell them then the single hen we have would be on her own, which is why I'm getting these new ones first

If you choose the frizzles, I hope you don't have a pine tree in the garden - they could blend in well with the pine cones when it comes to rounding them up for bedtime!

Oh I love Orpies whatever the colour (the DTB has Lemon Brahmas now - ahhhhhh). Cheyenne didn't get very big, but I think if she lasted till the following year she would have puffed out a lot more. At Chalk Hill they had loads of buffs in a pen and we asked if they were bantams. No, they were point of lay and would get larger as they got older. I don't think they will get as big as my other Orpies though. I wonder what gene pool the lemonies come from.

Well I haven't done the last of my chores and I haven't snoozed either. I thought I was supposed to go to a friend's last night, but I was told it was lunch instead today, so we spent a while with her (DD came too - mainly to play with the Old English Sheepdog). We had to come home early because of a driving lesson.

So, finished the hoovering, bunged all DD's rubbish laying around into the dining room and shut the door. I'm not doing that because there is already so much of her stuff in there and it really bugs me. Mutter mutter whinge whinge. Oi think oi'll make her walk the plank me hearties - harrrrr (still practicing). DD tried her hardest to say something piratey. It was a perfect Staffordshire accent (copied to a t as an old friend was from Stafford). I said "shame on you Wessex girl - it should be the way you talk anyway!"

Danny sounds like me.

Your dad sounds like me too - the cockerel has to go if you want more DD. So she is looking forward to having a Sioux Mini Me next year, and some other banties so she can call them more daft names - one sounds like Boofy - which is what she says when she squidges their fluffy bums (not sure if it is Boofy, Boopy or Boofboof, but not far off  ).

Feeeeed the birdssss, tuppence a baaaaagggggg .............. la la la la la

:lol::lol::lol:

I guess the piccy on the pirate thread was before? Like no, no, no. Or after - look all gone!

Sioux's gone off grapes - probably because the others made her life a misery chasing her and then they pinched them off her. She sulks now when the grapes come out.

Both pics are brilliant.

Nor me. I think I'll have an 'early' night tonight.

I'm meant to be taking the chicks and (green eglu) to school tomorrow night, but today after school the teacher said he only wants me to take 1 chick in because 'it'll be a busy room for too many chicks' :( I might take 2 in so they aren't lonely, and might have to use a pet carrier, unless the other 3 go to sleep in the pet carrier in the garage and the (green eglu) goes to school

Lewis is still on a misson to re-home these cockerels and get some more hens. I've found one person who may take a cockerel or two, and he has a couple of bantams for sale :)
