I just noticed today that Molly's new feathers are growing in a different colour . It's really rather fetching .

My beautiful Joy - my Black Rock is like that.

 

When I first got her, her feathers were like my hair - very dark with a few blondey/gingery flashes at the front.

 

Now when I was younger I might had added a bit of bluey/green at the back - but not now.

 

I wonder if she'll start to go grey at the edges like her 'Mum' instead?

Beautiful - two tone!

 

OUr Krasi was caught in the sunlight on Monday and the green in her black feathers really shone out in a way they hadn't before.

Apache was grey, lavender and white until the last moult last year, and now has the odd black/bottle green feather dotted about too. She really is a patchwork bird. Sioux, where she has moulted and regrown now has a smokey bottom compared with the pale grey and browny old feathers. But your girlie is really pretty - such a lovely sheen.
